hmm...the anime characters I always seem to like most never have parents...

Not that I don't appreciate mine, but I think i'd have preferred t ohave raised myself as they did.

I'm sure, ironically, that had I done so I'd have wished to have had some parents to raise me.

I don't know.. i haven't seen great anime parents yet.. i'll tell what.. i would NOT like to have these parents:

Genma or Soun from Ranma 1/2 --> GOD! Those r like.. the worst parents EVER!
Shinji's Father.. from Evangelion.. i think it's even worse than the latter..
Sakura's Father, from CCS... he's NEVER around! Talking about clueless parents..
Some anime parents r ok.. but i think i'd stick to my own parents

Well I kinda already have an Anime parent even though they hate Anime. My mom looks EXACTLY like Riza Hawkeye from FullMetal Alchemist (she even likes guns O.o). It's like:
Me: Ma I cleaned my room!
Mom: Doesn't look like it! (pulls out gun)
Me: Oh crap!
So a NO Riza! But...What if I was Riza and Roy's kid?

That wouldn't happen because as we all know Anime characters have a bad habit of losing their parents but as also very rich and powerful. But on the off chance that my mom or dad survived the Anime world I would have to say I wouldn't be too thrilled-now if my boyfriend was an Anime character ha HA watch out! rrrrrrooooow!
