i like the "quest" mode better in Soul Edge (before soul calibur 1) cause every single character has its own story... not like soul calibur 2 how u can change character in the middle of ur journey...

Actually It's not out in Japan yet but its released in US (or NSTC-U region). Namco seems to be releases some of its game in the US before Japan

yo I've played the game and it is cool there are tons of things to unlock and I mean tons! plus there are more characters. pretty much everyone from the part 2 are there except for Necrid and they have such cool costumes. also one thing that I think is really cool is that in the quest mode you get to make choices which mean that every character has multipul endings. plus they also have this cool QTE (quick time event) like in Dreamcast's Shamue. your be suprised to find out who the last boss is I won't tell ya so I don't spoiled the fun. but check the game out if your a huge Soul Calibur fan or just a fan of 3d fighters

I was thinking of picking it up but realized that I don't really need it cause I'm not a huge fighting fan so I'll get Shining Force Neo and play Tekken 5 and SC2 for now.

I must admit the game turned out better than I expected but IMO it shouldn't have come out now, they should have waited for either the next-gen systems or for when they could implement some new, fresh gameplay elements that would actually work well with the game.

Sure SC3 has a lot of new stuff but from what I've seen none of that really has a big imact on the actual game and it's not that well executed.
Well that's just my opinion I love SC and I'll definitely get the game some day just not now, I have other more important games to buy.

The japanese version is coming out in november. They got permission to use Dante from Devil May Cry, because DMC3 borrowed SC3's fighting engine for a boss battle. Haven't seen him at all in our version so the Japanese will probably get him, then we'll get an updated version. (My guess anyway.) So I'm gonna wait and see how it goes down in Japan first.

I shall reveal my FPS secret technique. Shoot em in the face... Don't tell anyone, OK?

Lizardman, Berserker, Sophitia, Cervantes, and Yoshimitsu are all in the game somewhere, probably as unlockables. They're not the only ones, either... check out this site:

I've heard mixed thoughts on SC3, namely the AI blocking tons, and the redone guard impact system. Hopefully the create a soul mode has plenty of options, I'd probably stick in a Fire Emblem character or two if possible since they'd fit in nicely. XD

I never played it, but the story mode and create a character seems ok. I am more interested in what improvements( gameplay wise) the game will have, which either probably make it better or worse.

The reason they dont have Necrid was because he was a exlcusive character for for the home console version of sc 2 and because Namco had made a sort of deal with Todd Mcfarlane. I am guessing the partnership(if I should call it that) has expired which explains Necrids apparent absence...I wonder if you can create him though.....

I'd have to say I was rather dissapointed at the PS2 exclusivity, considering SCII sold best on Gamecube I'm rather baffled.

i bought it the other day and...well they changed some of my favorite characters moves...kinda degraded him/her...a disappointment really...i bought SCII on xbox so the loading time was quick...now i hav to wait forever on the loadings...the story mode is pretty annoying when i hav to walk around and read the story...i like straight to the point things...i give it a 7 out of 10...i like the chronicles of weapon...

I got the playstation version (playstation RAWCKS...and it's the only game system in my house...). I like Tira and Talim, I like wind fighters best.

I just wish that they would have made the game for other systems...
its was a bit mistake i think becuase alot of people with gamecubes bout the game as well...

It's supposedly coming out for Xbox 360 also, but that may just be a rumor. I personally like the game, but after you unlock everything the replay value decreases steadily...

i have the game, and all the "missing" characters u named are present, with the exception of necrid and charade. there are secondary costumes, and even a color edit. character creation is great. Ivy's second costume is different, yoshimitsu's is ever stranger, and so is voldo's. i cringe at the thought of voldo. nighmare's unicorn thing is kinda weird, but his second costume kicks ass. overall, the game is excellent. my only complaint is that it wasnt released on xbox. good thing i have a ps2 also.

about seigfreid and nightmare, they are separate characters. the story is that nightmare is now the spirit of soul edge encased in seigfreid's old armor and given flesh by zasalamel.

got the game as soon as it got out and i found it a bit over rated.they focused to much on the custom chars and went a bit to far with it. dont get me wrong, i like the game but its too focused in the created chars.
