DVD and UMD for region 1, thats japan, comes out on the 26th of january, however there is a really really good copy with soft subs floating around the internet, I watched it and it was really good I thought.

the dvd comes out on jan 25 in japan, i think. i saw the fansub i got. it was actually quite good quality, jumped at times, but good. i like teh ending ^_^

I really want to see it! If its October this year then I'll have someone buy it for me for my birthday :nya:! My friends saw it but she said she didn't like the ending of it. She's a big fan of FMA so she might have been expecting too much. I would too but let's hope I like it in the end.

Well I saw it and in the end, it was very unsatisfying. I don't know but I had that feeling like something better could have happened. It wasn't so good that I loved it and it wasn't so bad I didn't like it. All I can say was that it didn't impress me like I expected it would.- Jan 11, 2006

I hate this film! It makes me cry for all night and I couldn't live at scholl the next day. It was so hyper-ultra-extremely sad...
If only it ended in another way... Anyway it was wonderful, but not for me (I couldn't watch it... I was crying :/)

I thought it was cool especially what Hughes and the Fuhrer were (those who have seen it know what i'm talking about) the movie's ending was great i saw no probs with it.

Heh, I've seen a fansubbed version, but the subtitles were sort of late at some scenes, so I just ended up staring at the screen, but it does catch up with the present frame though...But the movie really is great, it's hard to predict how it will end since it has this very nice element of surprise and unpredictability (shoot me if that isn't a word XD), sure it may be kind of depressing (the ending is sort of depressing, depending on what pairing you like ;) ), but it was still great.
Although there's one thing that's kind of unfair: Amestris and its people had a very short airtime... -_-

Really - is the manga different wow! I so have to read it then!
As for the movie - it's not as indepth as the anime, and I thought the 'baddies' were kind of lame, but it still answered questions. I enjoyed very much seeing Al and Ed together again, I was sooo sad at the end of the anime that they god seperated... hence why now I MUST read the manga:P
I can't wait til it comes out here! I really hope it does! Prehaps if it gets popular enough, I mean they did bring out Cowboy bebop...

I myself didn't particularly enjoy the movie. The first half of the movie was great, you could feel it leading up to a climax, and the reappearance of some of the characters was also cool. However, the climax itself was just so bad for me.
**Spoilers**I didn't like the reason that the woman decided to wreck havoc, and it just felt like the characters (particularly Roy) were trying to be cool, but failing by being over-dramatic. The conclusion was nice though, a calming ending. Too bad Winry couldn't be with Ed. I loved Al though; transmuting a tornado!

But i have to say it was a brilliant movie, and wonderful ending. i don't want to be a spoiler so i'm not going into details *hehe* i think it was a really good movie, but unless you're willing to accept certain things... you might not like it. >_<''(\ /)

i have a good quailty, subbed version that a downloaded through a torrent. the movie was good, but the ending made me feel sad. at the beginging of the movie i was thinking "yes! it won't end with Ed all alone and away from his friends" but by the end i was thinking that again. except, he at least had Al with him :) i would have hated it if Ed and Al ended up apart again.
All in all, i think it is worth seeing. i'm going to definatly buy it once it comes out

Yep, great movie, and how did Envy turned into a dragon? didnt get that part...loli like her usual form, btw go watch the FMAOVA over at utube for those who's seen the movie... its a must watch! Funny as hell! :P

Envy's a dragon, because in the series as he is travelling through the Gate, he transforms into one inorder to get through to the outside. Though in our world, where there is no alchemy, apparently the Homunculs' powers dont work either, therefore he cant transform out of that form.

I have watched it and I'm kind of disapoointed. Cause they have choosen a harsher atmosphere. It's quite sad. Well it's more like a bitter reality even if there's still hope.

I've seen it. I have to say that, while it was a good movie, I was a bit disappointed by the ending. There was no (truthfully) happy reunion. Al and Ed ((SPOILER ALERT)) came back to our world, and then that's just where it was left. It was kind of disappointing from a fan's point of view. We, at least <i>I</i>, expected the ending where Al and Ed are back in their own world with Winry, Roy, and the rest of the crew. But otherwise it was good.

Well, to each his own, but this came off as scraps Bones gave the fans to satisfy their whining. When you think about it, the story isn't really that great, nor do they explain anything (I won't mention specifics, due to spoilers). The story seemed pretty rushed too. They just kinda hustled through things. I'm not saying I could write a better plot, but they could've worked harder on it.
The only good thing I found was how much Al kicked ass.
