was Jesus a virgin

There is no mention of him ever having a lover or wife. Back then birth control was so limited that you had kids pretty much if you had sex, and there are no recorded decendants.
Christians believe that he was placed here to die for our sins, not to help procreate and then leave a family fatherless and husbandless at 33.
Theres no physical evidence to support that Jesus was not a virgin hard as it is to believe in a world today where its hard to believe a 20 year old virgin exists.

INTERESTING....very aptly asked as well...
as far as i know, the bible only sing praises of his sacrifice, whether or not
he ever had a family was not sure.
there have been novels and movies that wrote of that, however it has yet to be
proven,
I think the nearest saying is that he had a son, which was said to be a
priest...who followed his will (but i assume that is fiction)
because if you count the years before he died, he was a carpenter, and he stayed
with his mother, consider that he had only male friends, (which you can see in
the picture of the last supper where he dines with saints and sages or
whoever...), he was said to be a virgin.
The bible says as well as Sunira mentioned that he must be virgin because he
would sinned.
In the movie Passion of the Christ, which was said to be most direct edition of
Chirst movies ever made, we see that during his short time before his
crucification, he was alone. leaving with only his mother...(or is that even his
mother, the one who was watching him make that table in the house and talked to
him)
anyway...i am agnostic, so i never do anything deep with religion, but i have my reasons for believing that he is a virgin.
Here is something extra however:
A hong kong comic featuring characters which are overpowered to the edge called
Hei Pao Lie Chuan (Black Panther's Legacy) has prounounced the possible link
between how his family was passed down from a single family trees of elite
beings said to be born godly or with qualities of wisest of wise men.
they say: Jesus did leave a child, apparently recorded in history of texts, but he does not have any relation with the child as he was born after the woman who was "married" to jesus got into an affair after jesus' death and carried a child that was born in that relationship, however carries the Christ's name which was in said comic changed to Christos.
Since it is a comic, i assume there is no proof, but i don;t exactly know.

- GOMENASAI EVERYONE. :(
I watched something on Discovery Channel (or was it?) about this. It was about the book... "The Da Vinci Code" and it says that it talked about Jesus having a relationshipt with Mary Magdalene... but I don't believe in that crap! That's just totally idiotic, even if they had a little proof... I hate those idiots thinking about that... >=(

Sunlight is what I want, but sunlight ignores me... I wish I would someday be
freed from this darkness by someone who will love me forever and ever... no more
pain at all with him... no more pain and tears... because I will love him...

lets completely disregard the whole religious bible crap about jesus and lets
look at jesus as a normal person:
jesus was jewish and all jewish men of a certain age had to get married. he
might have had a son but didnt know about it. i dint think that he was single
and stayed a virgin. he was probably married, had 1 or 2 children but didnt know
about it or didnt tell anybody.

I believe we must look at everything in its context. I we could travel thousands
of years back in time, than maybe we
could see who Jesus was, what he wore, how he walked, what he ate, etc, but we
can't. As time progresses
everything has the possibility to get distorted, exaggerated manipulated, etc.
Out of respect for those who do
see Christ as a God, and have reason to worship him. He would have to be seen as
better than the average man.
I only know that people will always believe whatever they want to in the end,
and it makes little consequence whether it
is historically true or not.

Who knows? We have bible and it's rated PG-13 or what was it. It is just not in the archives that J4su5 Cr15+ actually impregnated 2000 females.

i wonder could he have been married and divorced at young and then founded
christianity.
he could have been married at 18...that gives him more than enough time to go
through a proper relationship and have a son, however, when he founded
christianity, he may have been divorced(which i wonder could that be possible)
or maybe his wife has died and was never recorded, and his son may have ran away from home, or maybe could have never known his father (there are such cases where child and parent separated at birth)
consider how massively chaos the time and age was, who knows, it may have happened that way.

Quote by zadkielas some people have already mentioned, there is a pretty simple proof:
Jesus was human in a every way except for sin
sex outside of marriage is a sin
there is no record of Jesus ever being marriedtherefore, Jesus must have been a virgin
Just forgetting one or two things
1. Jesus was jewish
2. All written text about him was wirtten decades after his death
But on the other hand.. he lived his life with 11 guys... :hmpf:

Ummm... ...Sex isn't a sin as far as I know... ...However, sex outside of marriage is considered a sin by many religions...
...And.... ...Having a much of begotten grandsons of an all-powerful God would probably left a notable mark upon the world.
...Jesus came to save us. ...Not to enjoy the pleasures of this world...

You also have to remember, Chritains see sex as a sin, not the Jews. And Jesus was Jewish. The bible my not say if he was married, but it also doesn't say if he went to the bathroom or even what happened when he was in between the ages of 8 and 30. A lot could happen there. Maybe he and Mary Magdaline were more then just friends. Who knows. And cut it out with that 20 year old virgin crap. I'm working on it.

Sex out of marriage
*is* a sin, or *was* a sin?
You have to remember, 2000 years ago Jesus lived much of his life as a regular
Jewish guy. Just because the Catholic church decreed that sex outside of
marriage should be a sin around the middle ages, that doesn't mean that Jesus
must have necessarily followed those rules.
Additionally, there is no record of much of Jesus' life. For example, the bible doesn't really tell you a lot about what Jesus was like as a teenager. While there isn't any record of it, it is not the same as disproving it ever happened. To quote a few posts above...

Maybe he was gay; there aren't really any records disproving that either, right?

Umm I'm 26 for better or worse... There is spectulation that maybe there was some sort of romance between him and Mary Magdelen I think. ...But as far as I know that's all it is. I have no reason to believe that he experienced any love for us beyond that love that sent him to the cross, to die ...servring as a perfect sin offering.
..He loved us deeply. ...Purely... I doubt that it had anything to do with lust. ...Further, I don't see any good reason why he'd want decendants when he came here to be sacrificed by what was at the time "The Church". ...Wrought with irony it is... ...I believe he was a virgin. There was no indication that his family extended beyond his own mother, Mary. In fact, the Bible mentions several people at the cross during the Crucifixion, including Mary Magdelen, Mother Mary, and one of the Apostles, to which Jesus gave to marry as a son, and Mary to the apostle as a mother, if I remember right.... ...No mention of a family other than the Apostles, Mary and Joseph. ...And it is a common belief that Joseph died sometime in Jesus' life here on Earth.... ...He kind of disappeared somewhere in the history, and no one is quite sure how/why. ...But Joseph is considered a Catholic saint.
