Well, Final Fantasy VIII is quite 'outdated' as it was released years ago, as a playstation 1 game.
But still, the graphics, music, characters...they just make me crazy.
I admit that I wouldn't have done it without the game shark XD :D
The thing that keeps me going through the whole game is of course--- Rinoa & Squall!
I simply LOVE Rinoa cuz she's so cute.
As for Squall...well...he's cute too?!?! >_< :nya:

Hmm...this is really hard as I love all the characters from FF VIII but I have to go with Squall (^_^) I love everything about the game. After all, it was my first FF and what got me hooked onto RPG games as well as Final Fantasy. God, I think I've played the game for like 6 or 7 times already (>_<) I just love everything about the game: characters, plot (chessy as it is =p), system, graphics, FMVs and even the card game (it's so addictive!) Regardless of what people said, FF VIII will always be my fav game as it will always have a special place in my heart~~Squall and Rinoa just make such a cute couple~~~

A lot of people hated FF8 for every reason they could find under the sun, but it remains one of my favorite Final Fantasy games to date. This one, 4, 6, and 10 stand up there as the greats in my book. I loved the whole school for young soldiers thing, and having a setting that was somewhere between modern and fantasy was another nice touch. I especially liked how serious it was, with the nonsensical moments kept to a minimum (h8 u ff9). We could have done without the Draw system, but that's the only flaw to what I consider to be an otherwise excellent game.

It`s also my FF best but there`s always a huge debate of wich one of the FF is the best. That`s a great aspect of FF series, becuase their games even tough have the same basis they are still different enough to be of the like of different kind of gamers, so each FF satisfy a kind of rpgamer but still is a great game for the rest.
Anyway, FFVIII is one of the only rpgs that I played twice leveling up all the character to 100 and getting all the possible stuff.

I also think FF8 is a great game (though not the best FF). A party of of Squall, Zell, and Irvine is purely unstoppable. ;)

This game is a was a great addition to the FF series... Tho I was a big fan of have to "draw" magic... Thos the junctionin system was awesome cuz with the right combo, u could be virtually unstoppable! The GF's were cool too...

overall, i didn't like FF8, the junction system is simply horrible

i never used any of my summons throughout the entire game

not much side quests

i didn't like the graphics style during gameplay, much like FF9

Well, everyone opinion is different. Some hate it, some like it. For me, FF8 is the 1st PS game I've saw and played too. It was this game who took me to the game world. The FMVs are totally beautiful~~

I really did like the game. The storyline, and of course characters~ especially Rinoa, a carefree spirit person. ^^v As for the junction system & GFs, IMHO I've having fun with it!(junctioning) XD Yeah, I played this game for more than 5 times & not adding that I'm watching my bro & cousin playing too. Maybe I've got obsessed with it.... ^-^

I like FF8. Some of the criticism leveled vs. FF8 is that the Junction system was a bore. I think it is a great system. Certainly not as abusable system one like the Materia system in FF7 but still, the junctions & the GFs work great. It's beautiful & I think it is the 1st FF game that focused on character development (yes, even FF7 included).

As for the characters, Squall is the best of them. He got a nice big sword, he got the girl and temperament-wise, he's like me so what's not to like?

I think the storyline of FF8 is kind of stupid... to abstract and crazy... an evil sorceress from the future trying to kidnap a little girl? WTF. the gameplay is pretty crap, too... the junction feature sucks... and GFs take WAY too long to cast. with the GFs, what's the point of using the normal attack anymore, anyway?! it completely ruined the gameplay...

also... when it comes to graphics, i actually think that the FF7 BATTLE graphics are better than the FF8 ones (don't you hate when characters kick up that crappy looking dust when jumping around to attack in FF8?).

Rinoa is NOT funny and cute... she's just annoying...

Overall... it's a pretty average game with the only thing driving it the storyline (which, as i stated before, isn't THAT good, either)

favorite is squall. he's cool so I like him best, what else is there. zell is also funny and has some sick tats so he's a close second. Irvine is the only one I don't really like

OKay I love ff8 because of Squall and Rinoa. I just hated that Junction system. Squall for his gunblade and his way of protecting his friends. Then Rinoa because she is just one of those peepy people that just brings the good out of someone.

This is a great game, the first time I played I did it no PSOne, I finished, but was not enough for me, so I was able to purchase an original copy for the PC version, so I'm planing to play it soon, once I'm done with other games.

This Game Rocks!
I have played it over 10 times over and always get a HAPPY SMILE on my face ^_^ Rinoa-Squall pairing is cool and the story and adventure is cool especially when you get the Ragnarok Ship ^_^.
The "Eyes on Me" song is Great! I simply love it
