i watched people play online games, at home, at work, at the cybercafe. all i see is that in MMORPGs, they always do the same things- kill monsters, get money, level up. i mean, most of the games require you to get stronger in order to achieve something. don't you think it's tedious and boring? all you do is level up, level up, level up... yawn...

Yeah but not all online games are mmorpgs. Halo 2 for example is ridiculously fun on X-Box live and it just adds mor enjoyment to be able to talk and chat with foreigners and new friends.

Well imo, online games are *good* if it doesnt take over your life. They are ppl out there who're pretty much addicted and play non-stop everyday. I heard that someone in asia somewhere killed himself because he lost some item on an mmorpg =.=".

yeah i heard this ting from somehwere that this kid died playing Warcraft 3, he played too much.. i was really addicted to D2 LoD but not so much right now, i got the good stuff i just go in to have fun duelin ppl.

mmmorpgs are fun but until a day you get bored (thats mean . do everything you can in a game (example reach lvl max have fun and leave) (the only thing fun in most of that games are when you are lving up . nothing more )

yea . and a kid 12 years old killed himself the other day for world of warcraft cuz he was explaining a scene to his friends (or parents i don't care) and he just jump from the windows..or something like that...well...doesn't it realy care ? a kid that play 3 days without stop a game is a idiot . and more if you don't know your limits. - psd ; i ued to play 2 full days at wow and i never think on "lets jump from the windows to see if i can fly"

hmm, I think online games are good.....afterall...it's not all about lvl -ing...you can chat, act sampat and and just explore the world map....and other stuff.

i think online games are fun too. there are some really messed up ppl that play tho. like the famous world of warcraft story that was just posted up all over other forums recently. some girl died and her guild decides to hold a funeral service. they posted a place and time where they will be at and the most stupid thing is that they put it into a pvp zone so u pretty guessed what happened next. serenity now killed them all i think. none of them could fight back since they had tuxedos on and no1 wanted to carry a wep in a funeral service.

discussing tactics in war, what is the best equipment, the best status to be the best player and such, also skill in that game is considered important...

online games are cool. but the only thing is that people complain about noobs and crap. counterstrike for example. if you suck cause you're a noob sometimes people would kick you. other than that I love the competition of the online games

Yeah, online games are fun to play. You get to interact with other people, and you get to party and level together. But it does have its downside too. For example, take MS (Maple Story). There will always be people begging for money, KS-ing, etc.

^^agreed. There are several cases that people actually killed themselves because they were so addicted to online games like Everquest, WOW, and so forth. It's only fun once in a while and as long as you don't get addicted. I personally stopped playing mmorpgs because I've been too busy with work and school. So I would have to say online games are "okay" AND bad.

They can be fun, but you always end up dealing with idiots, just like real life really. People who dedicate their entire lives to one MMORPG confuse me though, I don't see what they get from it.

Online Games is good to be played with.
You can get new friends in the game. If you play as a leader it will teach you something about leadership. It also will decrease your stress :p
But becarefull, sometimes it will lead you to the using of hacks and bots :p

They are really fun but it is easy to get addicted to them. I played lots of mmos and I am currently playing one now. some people find it really hard to stop and end letting it take over their life.There was a case were a mother was playing a mmo and neglected her child resulting in its death. another case in korea were two people played everquest and died from exhaustion. You just have to learn to moderate it and know when to stop.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm so addicted to Ragnarok Online because, like the original poster said, there's not really anything going on. It's just, y'know, kill monsters, level up, and get some items. Whoo? But it's ridiculously fun. Unless you die. That's pretty annoying. haha

I only play counterstrike for online games. The other online games i play are mostly for the ps2 online like sd v raw 2006, resident evil outbreak 2 and metal gear 3 substance
