i was just wondering how the public transport is in your countries...
here in singapore the average wait for buses is around 15 mins.trains vary acording to time(peak and slow hour).and taxis can be found almost everywhere, the only time hard to get an empty cab is peak hour cos everyone wants a taxi too :\ as for cleanliness, they're spick and span.
so how about your country?

lets see, in my country there is dirty buses, rude conductors, dangerous driving bus drivers, old, noisy and smelly buses, common traffic jams, common sexual harresment cases in the bus...(often happened!)long waiting ...hours...there was once i had to wait for a bus and it took me 2 hours...reason..they were having their lunch...
but what can i do? the wage is soooo cheap can't complian it is standard....

Public transport is a mess here too. In Philly, Pa. Bus or train fair is 2.00 U.S standard!
Its nutz. Despite new trains and buses the bums, and school kids rip them to shreds. Then
with all the garbage you can never quite be sure what crunching under you boots.
I really want out. Go raise sheep or something.

we only use bus if we're to travel far
I think thats better than where I'm from. Lazy Americans will get on a bus to go three blocks! It's sick! Then we wonder why there is a big dark cloud over the city.
public transport here in Philippines is crap, jeeps more than a decade old, rotten cheating cabs and stinky busses. i envy singapore's transport system been there on vaction, made me cry when i got home
Public transport in Birmingham, AL is a joke. The main form of public transport is buses. There is no train system. At the current moment, the bus system is only running because they got an extra loan from the government. The system has been at a loss for over a year, and is very close to being shut down. Finanacially, it is so far in the hole, that it should have been shut down a long time ago. The problem is that no one uses it. The only routes are in the city limits, and a majority of people that work in the city live outside the city limits. As for the wait, it can take up to 45 minutes depending on where you are.
Transportation in United States are largely based on automobiles. Public transit of course does exist but compared to countries like Japan it is woefully inadequate. If you want to travel in quickest time in your city then you really need your own car. I once measured how long it will take from my home to work. In my personal car it took me less than 10 minutes by taking freeway with no traffic congestion. Next I tried my local public transit system (bus) and it took me minimum of one hour to reach my work.
Conversely, public transit system in Tokyo is outstanding. Rails are so efficient that you can set your watch on train arrival time.
Public transport in Belgium ... Well often the busses are overloaded and sometimes the trains are having delays. But it's getting a bit better lately. We can't complain about the network. Belgium has a very wide pt network, both in the city centers, suburbs and inter city connextions. There are 3 mayor bus and tram operators: De Lijn, Tec and MIVB. Most of the busses are recently bought, so we can't really complain about an outdated fleet. Plus we have a real unique thing. Our coastal tram runs along the entire 64 kilometres long Belgian coast (in about 2 hours), providing on some parts of the line an excellent view at the sea. During the summer season there is a tram every 10 minutes, and this summer there were more than 1 million passengers ! So I guess we can't really complain about public transport in Belgium. It could probably be much better, but it's already quite good ^^

In my city mostly sucks. I don't ride the bus so I can't talk about it; but the subway is full at the rush hours, and
sometimes you have to wait 4 or 5 minutes at hours like 8 a.m (when everybody is going to work or school). Trains aren't
much better, usually they run late.
And for the kind of service they are offering, I find it too expensive.
I'm in Hong Kong, transport is pretty convenient, mtr last from 5/6am till 1am, waiting time is usually 3/4 mins but at
peak its 2mins at off peak almost closing time, about 7mins. buses r everywhere but depends where u r, can vary from
7mins to 20mins or more
taxis r everywhere but its the jams that might cost u time
