A doujinshi is basically a fancomic, usually focussing on a specific pairing or love triangle. Most Doujinshis are hentai, japanese porn, and there are many yaoi (guy on guy) and yuri (girl on girl) pairings.
I, not including all the heavy hentai, really do like doujinshi. I made one almost a year ago about Kagome (from Inuyasha) getting pregnant and am planning to redo it this winter. If I have time I'm also going to make one with a Miroku/Kikyo pairing ^_^.

doujinshis are yes fancomics, but technically doujinshi's are usually based on something (series, other comics, spoofs, porno, you name it but there are also things called original doujinshis which is made by the artist themselves in other words an original comic. but also doujinshi's are those books, comics (what ever you wish to use) that didn't made it into main stream selling of their works. examples are Ken akamatsu and oh Great. they were first both doujinshi artist but became mainstream when a company already asked them to do a series :D

people create storys based on animes and some of them draw that out, i like doujinshi cuz i can't make one. some of these share the same feeling of an anime

I ended up finding a really pretty one called Angel Eyes about shinji and karou from Evangelion. It's a really interesting medium and I wish more of it would find it's way here. But, because much of it deals with "taboo" subjects it would be pretty suprising if a company decided to translate it and bring it here.

I like the doujinshis by Hiro Suzuhira and Aoi Nishimata, cause their drawings are good...
Mostly or maybe all their works are hentai tho...;D
And also, Tony Taka's RO fanbook is good too...

i wonder how many doujinshis will be left if not count the hentai ones... usually the original ones are better than doujinshis, but they dont have h stuffs. we need someone to give us seeable stories that original ones didnt give us. imagination is bored

I love doujinshis and the concept behind of it.
This year I was at Comiket (Tokyo's biggest doujinshi convention) and it was amazing. There were things reaaally well done, with high quality paper and even colour pages. Usually the prettier the doujinshi is, the most expensive is too; but I find it's worth to pay for it.
My favorites are yaoi doujinshis, specially those done by Komeya or from K2. Other kind (parody, yuri) are ok too; and I'm not against hentai either as long as is not too gross.- Dec 01, 2005

Doujin are wonderful when they are done tastefully. I tend to ignore the ones that lean too heavily on the hentai aspect.

Well actually most doujins feature pretty gd artwork some u might even find better than the original drawing style tat why i like them. Dun reali like the hentai part though i love the covers though :)

I like doujinshi particularly if it's done by a certain circle like Yamaguchirow. It's buyer beware though since the interior art could be a lot worse than what's on the cover.
