I was just wondering why everyone thinks cagalli hates dresses, in all her profiles that people write and what people say in fanfictions they say she hates dresses i dont really think that is true even though it is funny in the fanfictions and i do like it in the storys, but ive seen her wear a dress about 4 times and that seems like a lot for some one who supposely hates dresses, because she'll wear them....i just dont think she hates them, I just think that she likes to wear something more formal like her uniform or pants are more suited or more fit for business or battle..i was just wondering that..i want to know what do you think does she hate them...or just doesnt want to wear them..

I agree with you sissy. I think she just wants to uphold a formal and leader appearance. She cant really conduct a important meeting wearing a mini skirt. But i think it could be possible. :)

I would have to say that it would have more to do with being treated differently because she's a girl. Not necessarily that she doesn't like dresses but because she's not treated as seriously as she would like to be. Dresses tend to remind people that she is a girl... that is to say, that her power to command is decreased. since acting like a girl isn't something she's known for. Cagalli is someone that likes to take things into her own hands - she fights besides other soldiers and she's very spontaneous in her actions.

I agree then, that Cagalli doesn't necessarily hate dresses - rather than what they keep her from doing.

I still think that it's funny though - what some fanfictions have her go through to avoid wearing one. ^^

Well...she does appear to be a tomboy and a dyke LOL XD (just kidding, really, don't kill me Cag fans X.X).

But either way, she looks very pretty and beautiful in her dresses, it shows more of her beuaty beneath her. I especially loved the Dress Aisha lent to her and her Orb Princess dress. She looks beautiful, pretty and cute ^^.

Well... I do think that she wouldn't entirely hate it if the deal would involve only a few people (like perhaps Kira,Lacus,Mir you know, the close ones) and most likely Athrun...

But then again, if you think back of what she likes doing, then I think a dress, even the most beautiful one, won't suit her. I mean, she does run around a lot, she also fist fights, and so if she wears one, her movement is decreased...... which will be to her disadvantage...

Actually, if she likes it or not, it won't bother me that much because she'll still be the same Cagalli... the pretty and cute one. :)

Lol, i really adore Cagalli ya noe, i mean, she's unlike any other girl in the series. She 's rough but has a girly cute side, she talks back, she's not clingy to guys, she can lead, she can pilot and can be in love. Not really a character to hate. But all these are in SEED....Destiny practically ruined her life....haiz....

Remember the time she revealed her identity and her so called maid came and forced her to get into her dress? Lol, dat already proves that she hates dresses. Like what most of them says here, she prefers to be in comfortable clothes.

Cagalli is Cagalli and is unique in her own way. To compare her will only bring down her uniqueness.

i agree with most of you, i really douubt that she hates dresses, she just rather wear something more comfortable, so she can move around however she likes, i'm sure cuz she is usually wearing her t-shirt and cargo pants(i wish to have one like Cagalli's), i too wear t-shirt and pants all the time but when the time is, i'll wear a dress just like Cagalli, besides she is really a princess, inside, and she knows how she has to behave, specially when the ocacion is important, like a GS/GSD opening XD

like you said before, her character is unlike the normal girls you watch in an anime... she is my fav character :nya:

PD: i just wished i could see Athrun's face when he kinds her in a dress *-*

I think Cagalli hates dresses because she's boyish, that's it. And with a minimum knowledge of japanese, everybody can understand that she talks like a man, and she sounds so vulgar! How can a princess speak in that way and be nice and curte only wearing dresses? I think she's ridicolus! Making she wearing is in contrast with her behavior.

Well....in my point of view, so what if se likes or hate dressses in this case i think she has character .....at least she is better than certain girls in other anime who always needs someone to protect. Cagalli can protect herself and in some ways, i think she is stronger than a guy....at least one guy tt we all know of.....her fiance.....PS :ITS NOT ATHRUN!

hmm, this is a really good question... I think probably not. Cagalli is a girl who grew up unlike a princess-type and is very boyish. She went to the villagers to fight the Tiger and Z.A.F.T. and actually enjoys fighting. More than anything, she has strong beliefs that naturals and coordinators shouldn't fight, and if they must, she must protect her people. She actually has almost no time to worry about dresses. As an O.R.B. leader, she endlessly thinks that the war must end, and the protection of naturals. As such, she likes to walk around in pants so she can "get her work done." If you force Cagalli to wear dresses, she will wear them, but unless it's absolutely necessary, she will not. To um.. easily get around? she prefers pants, but I think it's possible that you force her to wear dresses. ^.^ As you've said, she wears many dresses in the series.

I dont think she hates them, but shes beautiful whenever she wears one. That's her personality and i like it. umm I didnt saw an eps where athrun saw cagalli in a dress, i wonder what will be his reaction? "a girl?" just like what kira said... :)

I don't think Cagalli really hates it when she wears a dress but I do think that she tries to avoid it ((maybe because people start to forget she's a girl and suddenly burst out saying: "OH you're a girl...?" *cough*Kira*cough*)). I don't think she would mind wearing a dress somewhere formal though, or with Athrun (XD). She'll definatly wear one if she has to, that's for sure. But it wouldn't match if she were to wear a dress in a meeting (I know I wouldn't do that o_o).

Well doesnt mean she wears it means she hates it.... i think she really hates wearing dresses it somehow makes her feel erm girly (even though she's a girl)still cant find a right word.. see how she blushes everytime she wears a dress (mainly in series one)... Cagalli's really those extreme tomboy who you wouldn't do something a real girl would do... (rule her out in babysitting your kid, or spending time to help you do your hair..) And from my opinion tomboys hates dresses... (Of course for Athrun.. you'll do anything to impress your love would'nt you... especially if you not those types who show emotionally)

I don't think she hates dresses. It's just that she doesn't want people to look at her as a girly princess while she's not. She doesn't want to depend on someone, and a dress makes her look so, therefore she doesn't want to wear it. Then, people look at her as a boy for a long time, that makes her too embarassed to put on a dress. But definitely sometimes she wants become girly and wear a dress, but maybe just let herself or Athrun see. Anyway, I prefer her wearing the dress sometimes, not so often, just sometimes. That makes her look difference and will create funny expression on the male characters' faces. But I like the way she is now, very plain and suitable for her character.

I can't really picture her in dress what with her personality. It just doesn't fit so much. She looks much better in that supreme commander's uniform.

Well... true that I've seen her wearing dress less in previous episode but I tink she will wear one when it comes to Athrun... yet she even wore a wedding dress to marrying Yuuna... so... I think from the beginning of SEED she depise it since I saw she was struggling from Mana when she comes back to ORB.

I agree with you. I seriously doubt that she hates them. She probably hate the fact that they may hamper her movement. Furthurmore, she probably don't like wearing them because of the false impression that it may give some people, probably that she is more like other girls, adverse to certain stuff. She does admit and accept that she is girl and despite being tomboyish in appearance and ceratin behaviour, I don't think she don't like being a girl.

Maybe... maybe she's trying to show that she can do a man's job (particularly piloting a gundam); she's a worthless pilot! I'm glad she decided to let Mu use the Akatsuki Gundam; probably because she FINALLY realizes that she's not good enough to pilot. Besides, the Akatsuki is too good for Cagalli; It suits Mu A LOT better. As for the Cagalli fans, forgive me =) I'm one of the Cagalli haters...... in addition to her being a worthless pilot, she has an annoying voice, both in japanese and in english dubbed. =)

I don't think so, maybe she is just shy to wear one. Everybody might tease her if she did wear a dress. But she looks good in dresses, how sad she won't wear one.
