I was going to make this a while back, but just spaced it. Finally...after all these years. You don't have to narrow it
down to one, just a few of your favorites and what shows they've composed for.
For me I really like the music by Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain etc), Yuki Kajiura (.hack, Tsubasa Chronicles
etc), and Toshihiko Sahashi (Gundam SEED series etc).
~Thanks for your comments! :)

TOSHIHIKO SAHASHIIIII! Honestly, his compositions rock. I especially like the piano piece "You and I, Unfulfilled Feelings". It inspires me to make a story.
And Toshiro Masuda, composer for Naruto! Hehehe. The compositions help me relax.

Well I go for Yoko Kanno ^^ I love her music because it makes me feels relaxed and nostalgic about past things and future dreams. I hope to hear more of her fantastic work in the future.
"... It's clear to me now that I have been moving toward you and you toward me for a long time. Though neither of us was aware of the other before we met, there was a kind of mindless certainty humming blithely along beneath our ignorance that ensured we could come together. Like two solitary birds flying the great prairies by celestial reckoning, all of these years and lifetimes we have been moving toward one another..."

Kanno Yoko, and Kajiura Yuki... Not sure why, but their compositions are good~~~ I still remember the instrumental composition of 'Voice', even though it's a long ago piece, the music is still very haunting...
