I'm told I am becasue I know more about games then most people, so they say I'm a nerd & stuff. Do you think your addicted?

hmm, I suppose to non gamers I am considered. Then again, when I'm compared to other gamers, I don't seem that all addicted.

I really, seriously disagree with the concept of "nerd"; it's just a label people put on others to make the labelers feel superior, or something, since you know more on some subject than they do, even if it's a subject they don't care about-some people can't stand it if another is better than them, even if it's of no interest to them.
However, I do think it is possible to become addicted to a form of media or entertainment; learning moderation and when to tell yourself "Stop"(and meaning it) is a good way to deal with the situation if it grows into addiction. Go outside, breathe in the (relatively) fresh air, and experience *life* as it is.
Although, it's not games that much, but reading, writing, drawing, spending time on the phone and computer, are what I'm addicted to; games come in at a very, very close second.

To some I'd be considered a nerd, simply because I have strong interests in computers and video games, but the fact that I leave my house optionally on a regular basis kinda negates that in my mind.

While I am a kind of nerdy, I'd also like to think that I don't let it get in the way of real life.

I am not sure. I start to feel a little insecure if I haven't played or watched in a while. I'd rather have a guarantee that I can watch and play anime and games. I guess I am addicted on some level, but I can control my self somewhat if I haven't gone with those activities in a while.

Hmm, I think I used to be extremely addicted to games about four years ago (back in middle school). I would always want to play video games, and I would sneak at every single opportunity. Keep in mind that my parents are both Asian, and didn't let me go play games a lot.

I think, back during those times, I averaged 6 hours a month of playing video games (thanks to my parents), so you can see where I'm coming from. However, I'm not "addicted" anymore, because I get to play more nowadays, and like any normal person, I get bored.

As of now? Now I'm addicted to playing anime music (as well as some classical) on my piano, and I think I'm starting to develop an unhealthy habit of going on anime websites (MT, anyone?)

i must b its mostly cus for 2 days now iv had no sleep though thers been other times iv gone watching anime and no sleeping and listening to anime and game soundtracks for along time compared with other anime addicts and gamers around here, yes i am really addicted haha i rule! :D

Now,I'm not,but before I was addicted to Pokemon games,Black and White,Sims,Roller Coaster Tycoon(I just love to play games,where I can build something,own something,etc),and some RPG games too...
But now I don't have much time,becouse I have to learn for school( I go to economic university),and I want read books and mangas too...
*seufz* sometimes I wish I could be during summer vacations at home,do nothing,only play games,have fun,read mangas,watch animes,etc...
But man have to work during summer,so man can buy better PC... ^^'
So in summary,when I had time,I would spend a lot of time by playing games *lol* Yeah,I almost forgot to mention the game The eye of dragon ^^,I like this game very much,becouse I love dragons...^_^

I have to admit it.But on the last days I have controlled my addiction.Here's an advice:ALWAYS control the time you're in front of a screen,because it will affect you (I have some problems of vision so I know what I'm saying).

Addicted or not makes no difference. If anyone has a problem with how many games of what type I play they can kiss my A**.

Over all, though, I'd have to say I once used to be addicted to Action Adventure games like Zelda, Spyro, Rayman, Mario. Though I also liked fighting games and platformers a lot. I've also dabbled in RPG's but they got old real quick. I like dancing over my opponents' freshly beaten remains >:)

Well, I consider that stereotyping. The fact that you're called a nerd just because you know more about videogames than anyone else. That's silly. A real addict is someone who plays all the time, doesn't do their school work, even tries to skip school to play videogame, tries to get all the games possible... THAT'S a videogame addict. Not someone who knows more about them than anyone else...

Unless you're like that, then no, you're not an addict.

I'm addicted to games, I love playing games so much sometimes I loss track of time completey in that I played 1 game 24hrs straight (with short breaks every 6 hours or so for a bathroom break)

Aye, I'm addicted. World of Warcraft is the name of my game. However, once in a while I take out the old N64, pop in Super Mario 64, and see how far I can get before I fall asleep from being too tired.
