So my friends were arguing again on Kingdom Hearts and the fact that they feature cameos of characters from Final Fantasy and characters from Disney. Does that bother people? My friend keeps saying that he'll never play Kingdom Hearts because he just can't picture the idea of Mickey Mouse in a game XD I guess that's just him. But you can't argue the quality of the game. What do you guys think? Do you think the Disney and Final Fantasy characters just kill the game?

i don't think so. i think it's a great game, and a pretty colorful one too. great story and gameplay is the most important aspect of a game, so, it's a matter of personal taste.

When the game was first unvelied, people were like "WFT? Disney characters with FF characters?" "OMG, Square (had enix merged yet?) is going to ruin their reputation" "Kiddy game, ROFL" towards it, looking back its nothing like that, for me was actually the first time I'd doen anyting to do with disney characters for years, before KH I'd say I'd outgrown them, but now I think differently.

actually they blend with the game surprisingly well. People who can't get past that, need to get over it and just play it.

agreeed. at first yeah WTH, KH and Disney?! This is gonna be fun. not in a good way that is. But heck, its square stuff so I tried it out. and I was hooked by it. Square blend the two world amazingly well. It doesnt feel weird at all seeing FF Characters alongside Disney characters.

Well it's a matter of maturity really.
If games had to be "cool" or "fun", I'd pick "fun" anyday.
I mean so what if Mickey Mouse and Goofy are in them, that just makes them even more awsome ^^ Cuz I can't think of anyone cooler than "Mickey Mouse, the Ninja" at the moment :D

I never went out and got the game myself but i helped my friend play through almost the whole game. I gotta say at first when i found out i tripped out a liuttle bit when he was playing a game with donald and goofy, but after seeing him play through a couple of levels and seeing the way the storyline worked i was actually quite surprised at how much i was enjoying it as well. FF characters as well....seem out of place but again, you get over it pretty quick.

Goofy's kinda fun to look at when he changes appearance in certain worlds.

Anyway... We all know what happened. People were like 'WTF!?', or just plain '..?' when they 1st laid eyes on this game. But KH fought back with a great gameplay & story & quickly turned those 'huh!?'s into awe.

i think the game is really great--done excelently well. i find the disney/final fantasy characters mix rather fun. i am a disney and final fantasy fan after all. and i find the cross over game really fun.

I thought it would feel weird too, but somehow it just worked. Just goes to show that those Diney characters have a lot more depth than we give them credit for.

uhm I think Kingdom hearts is a great game ^_^ story, gameplay,sound of course ^_^ graphic all are great lah? I've never thought that I can play a game with FF characters and WDisney :D and Square Enix has alredy done well

When I first heard of thegame, I thought that it would be an interesting game. Now, it is one of my most favorite games of all time. They totally showed a whole different disney thing, especially King Mickey. Everything about this game is awesome, from music to story. It would be better if they had more square characters in there though. Hope KH3 makes up for that.

I agree. And it's also interesting to see such a contrast of characters interacting in the game. Although, I was hoping for a more shocking reaction from human-type characters in the game when meeting a talking duck and dog.

when I first bought KH I wasnt sure about how interesting it would be since it seemed a bit childish with disney in it. but after playing it I like it and its just more unique that way with disney right alongside FF characters.
People shouldnt judge the game before playing it themselves and seeing what its really like.

I thought it was a genius idea and it also brought back some childhood memories from both final fantasy and disney. A very nostalgic game and fun to play. KH2 made nice improvements too, although i'm still quite confused on the story so far. Hopefully it'll all make sense in the end and hopefully it'll be a really happy ending. :)

To me people who say the game sucks because of Disney characters hasn't played it. So they don't know how fun the game is. And the game is awesome!

That fact that it had Disney characters means some people would never buy it regardless of how much you told them about how good it is, some people are just like that.

However I wonder how many people bought it for their 3 years olds only to realise that maybe 'that Disney game' isn't as innocent as they thought it ould be.

Anyone who when they first heard of the idea, didn't twitch, laugh, or scream out of sheer terror, needs to be involved in serious car crash. The consept itself is whats distrubing. Cloud running along side Donald and Goofy. Yeah... Not the greatest idea. What makes this game successful is the gameplay. Thats it.

It was a crossover game that WORKED. That's all that KH needs to be commended for. Despite the childish demeanor of the KH series due to the advent of Disney characters, the plotline and story of KH itself is quite deep, and at times get really complicated, remember, it was mainly Square (Enix) staff that did all the development and such. Disney could never make such a masterpiece such as KH on their own, and it was actually Square that made it really good. I also agree that the Disney characters and Square's dev and their own characters blended in really well.

And that's your own opinion, and I respect that, but you should try and not use such terminology when mentioning that "anyone who first heard of the idea and did not twitch, laugh, or scream out of sheer terror needed to be involved in a serious car crash." It's kinda demented, saying that you want many people who probably did not do aformentioned actions, to die. Kinda demented, no offense.

Hell no it don't kill the game! I thought the crossover was a wonderful idea, but I will admit that I was a little bit on the worrying side when I first heard about it. All in all, I think that it went well, and I was exited to hear that they continued the series.

I think it's a great fusion of the two companies and it's produced an amazing pair of games. I love the KH games and will definitely get into KH3 (if such an anime comes into existence.)

P.s. If there's a KH3, I'd love to be in The Incredibles world!
