I have a few ideas but ofcourse I'm only guessing:) What if it's a special body section nine has given to her as one of the best cyberbody users? No proof ofcourse but we cannot be sure this was her first adult body. I can imagine that she has been so skilled that they thought she"s indeed worth having a special body. Cancel

In the 2nd series (SAC 2nd GIG) they took the story a bit into Major Motoko's past and revealed that as a young girl she was a survivor of a plane crash, but had to have her entire body replaced by cyborg parts. Apparently she was one of the first humans ever to undergo a complete body switch. So I guess it would be normal to assume that as one of the longest users of a cybernetic body, she would be the most dextrous and would be able to customize the body (what section 9 or higher would provide) into which her personality (ghost) would be implanted. Either in the manga or this series they mentioned something of her having several identical bodies, ready to be used whenever one has been written off (as she frequently does ...). Cancel
