I think it's pure idiocy. I mean what's stopping me (white, middle class) from becoming a terrorist? Nothing. (Appart from my not wanting to become one).
Honestly, anyone who beleive that it's only the Muslims out to get America, they're kinda wrong. America has more enemies than just one race. They're just the focus of the moment.
If everybody knows just who you are, then your walk on role becomes a major part. Have you ever attempted to be yourself? When everybody wants you to be someone else... Going up and down and back again..

Muslim does not equal terrorist. The fact that many terrorist are (or claim to be which I kinda doubt given even my limited knowledge of Islam) Muslim is a reflection of extremist views within that group not of the whole group. In general most Muslims are peaceful people who practice their religion quietly and respectfully.

It is just plain prejudice by ignorant people who knows nothing about the world.
Anyone can be a terrorist.
The problem is that in the previous years there were some Muslim that did terrorist act and so everyone just labels them as such.When I mean everyone I mean the ignorant who thinks all Muslims are terrorists.

Definitely not logical, for any people of that race could be a terrorist. I believe that whoever made that up is quite ignorant. Or maybe its because of the recent malay issues that lead them to thinking malays=terrorists, which is totally wrong. We shouldn't label a race as a whole because of some people,who are extremists, doings. As far as I have known, all races are quite peaceful except for the extremists who creates trouble just to have people labelling them.

hm...... I think muslims being labeled as terrorist is purely racism! I mean, in almost every place you go, the media(not only the news but also on popular movies and often times T.v. shows.) would portray muslims as scheaming terrorist who plan to rule the world bythe means of violence and fear. But have we ever thought how it would feel to be discriminated and labaled as terrorist? That would be too unfair for anyone!
Besides, as yu-huang mentioned, everyone can be a terrorist, even an american who claims to promote world peace may be a "closet" terrorist.

Oh yes in Irland( northern) there used to be constant bombings and fighting( it stilll happens today). And they were consideredd terroists, its pure ignorance of the human population, that creates such ppeople and such preddudical ideas.

I think that one of the reasons that labeling of muslims as terrorists is becuse the most of the muslims on the news are bad people, like a terrorist. we never hear about a good athlet who is a muslim or a good politician. I think that could have change the westen world view on muslims.

The IRA (Irish Republican Army) was over and done with years ago. You need to keep with your history......It is one of many terrorist group - turned political groups. The leader now even hold a set in Irish government, I forgot which one though. HAMAS can achieve the same...they already hold power in the government; problem is that there are those on both sides don't want to see it that way.
The main misconception about Muslim is the fact that the western world are considered the Infidels and must be destroyed, according to Islam. So for Muslim extremist, in my opinion, its their religious duty to kill the infidels, which so happens to be the Western culture, namely the US and its Allies. Its not about the politics, its all about the religion. There are millions of Muslims living in the US, however, these extremist groups prey upon the poor Muslims, under the guise that the reason that they are in such poverty is because the infidels(western culture a.k.a. the US and Allies) are preventing them to flourish. So they are pretty much brainwashed to the wrong side of Islam.

Its all well to name individual cases of wanton distruction by white people, but no other religion other than that of Islam has been so devoted to terrorism against the Western nations, in particular the USA. I must admit that I don't have any statistics to prove this generilization, becuase this is what this thread is all about: the generilization that Muslim equal terrorist.
Islam, as an identifieble group, has more cases against the West than any other identifiable group. The IRA tended to wreak havoc around them, but it wasn't, as LigerZSchnider said, religiously based. Merely political (it started religiously though, think). But it was, as the name states, a political army.
As sad as it is, the automatic image you get when you think of a terrorist (at least if you live in the Western hemisphere) is an Arab with a AK47. It is in my mind truly unfortunate, because once again it is a minority group of extremists that give the rest of the more peace loving Muslims a bad name. No religion, at its core, propagates that you'll be blessed in the afterlife if you kill innocent bystanders who just happened to believe different from you. Maybe 2000 years ago (make that 500 years ago) but not taday. Maybe that just shows how outdated they are.
Let me just repeat that I generilized. I believe that the few extremists that painted (or are) the picture of the psycho Arab are to blame. That doesn't, however, make true for the rest.
