I know it's useless before someone else see it..
But it's better to be best at your own characters than being a copycat.

I think its best to make your own original stuff, but I see no harm in making your own rendition or practicing with other's works. As long as you give them credit, I don't think its a big deal.

I make a few original characters, but I've never submitted them.
Usually the originals I draw are only heads, or torsos.
I never can finish them. >_<

Yeah i made a lot of original characters when i was younger..some are cool others just .... ^^ now not that much..2 days ago i made one..its not that bad i think but i guess i dont have the same skills anymore lol..the thing is that im not much into put my own art in the internet..maybe someday ill put here some xD

Hey. Not bad art. It's pretty good, but of course, you can improve on anatomy and perspective.

I've stopped uploading pictures due to the lack of a scanner.

I enjoy character and costume designing.

Drawing my own character is a lot easier than drawing others' characters in my opinion. I guess it really depends though.

when it comes to drawing, i always create my own character (original g00ds)
i think it's really hard for me to copycat someone's drawing..

the key to drawing your own character is have a clear image of how you want him/her to look like, in surpreme detail to build, hair, eyes etc
then what their persnallity is like, age, height, boy/girl, etc
then what's the setting? school, fantasy, robo-mechanical?

i draw allll the time! and to make them move, all you need is a flip note! you know? i just make a flip note of wat i want to happen, and then add details and make them anime and they move really well. it comes together awesome but it takes some time. ^-^

yeah it takes a lot of repitition to get it right...my advice, erase as little as possible unless you can totally erase the line. the faded line will guide you into the same mistake
