giving society a bad image? no... moraly correct? depending on what it is. but IMO, these things don't really contribute to bad society. at the teens age, any decent child will know what's right and what's wrong. if you're playing a violent game, you know that it's just a game. and that it was made for fun, not to teach you to go out and shoot people. it's the little kids that are influenced by these things. but how are they going to get their hands on these things if the parents really care for them. also, guys like 50cent and other rappers that's all about drugs, money, and guns, they are influencing the new generation. i've seen kids walking about with a necklace with like the dollar sign down by his crotch. it's all these gang banging music video that's tainting our society.
parents are complaing about hentai, violent gaming, movies, prono, yet they say that music is fine? like eminem always has swear in his songs. and it's okay for them to listen to and that they don't see the problem lies within the music industry, yet they blame on stuff like hentai and porno, which kids can't get their hands on yet, it's all BS

kk, to make things clear we ALL think child porn is wrong here. I never said that violent games,movies, hentai and child porn is ok. i NEVER said child porn is ok, its sick and wrong. Just to make things clear since it pops up alot. Whats your guys say on the lolicon anime stuff though? In canada sme dude got sent to jail for it. BUT its because he also had child porn on his pc and run ins with the cops from befor about it.....oh did i mention the guy was using a office PC? what a sick ****. kk anyways so japan's suicide rate is bad.....know i know. Dunno about HK, though. But the main factor is that parents say these things are bad because it makes them violent and horney. Do you suppose that HK and Jap have so much of it, its become and ordany? and its not a "OMG HE LOOKS AT HENTAI!" and in fact doesn't give people retarded urges to rape people? since everybody....well lots of people around them look and play that sorta stuff, the games and things?

You have made some valid points and they sound good to me. There are some folks who merely want that sort of thing. If I buy a game that's 18a, I want it to earn that rating; give me the violence, the sex, the whatever.
I'll even get into an anime every now and then wonder if they'll go to some hentai content, just for the Hell of it. elfen Lied is an example. I read about it and figured it would be brutal, but until I saw it I didn't know it'd be so heavy on the blood, guts and nudity. It took me by surprise, but I just went 'yeah, OK. whatever works'
The story and characters are my main focus of any game or anime, but feel free to give me the gory, brutal, sexy and hentai stuff while they're at it. Peaople really are just looking for another scapegoat for people's behaviour is a result of conditioning from experiences spawned by both the family and peer group.s That is what needs to be blamed, so stop using scapegoats and adress the problem.

I believe people know wrong from right. It is a choice dependent on the individual to follow what is right or what is wrong. At some point, a person decides to be a certain way for certain reasons. I think limiting an individual's right to choose is the worst kind of oppression. I live in America and we are very conservative. However, life is not fair...and no one said it would be, but to make the most of what it is. If it makes one happy to watch hentai and violence...i will not discriminate because it works both ways. People may not like the fact I do not want children exposed to adult material, but I would not want my choice to be discriminated against by other people. Stop the Discrimination, no one can choose for me. Blaming the media industry for the corrution of humaity...makes me laugh.

I agree, but like nobody's going to give a 10 year old hentai. oh god no. And i've herad parents complain about GTA, and how voilent it is, guess what? The person who bought the game for her 10 year old son was her! Even with the age rating its her own fault she's to stupied to read the age warning, and then blames the games. Nobody wants to take responisbly for themself and people always want something to blame. Violence in games, porno, hentai, TV. There the easest to blame because there everywhere. Some people don't even truly mean to blame it, but after awhile your so used to blamng it they believe it realy is wrong. I'm glad " DrakenImmortal" brought up elfen lied. Sure its violant, lots of blood and nudtiy. But if you seens it you'll know what i mean when i say. It "can't" incourage violence. because all of it is magic based. What? Some kid is goin to go on the street and hope to start killing people with invisble hands? There are some things in life people live on, take thoughs away and what do we have left? Can you imagin a world without gaming, TV, or porn? To many porno you'll say, wont change much, but hell it will. In japan you take away hentai, whats left? I think SOME things distort young people's perception of reality and what's normal (not always, but occasionally it does). A study (I can't remember who by, but it was in the paper a while back) found that men (and women I suppose) who looked at porn, read porn magazines, etc. were actually more likely to have failed relationships because they had this 'ideal' image of a woman (or man) in their minds, and compared their partners to porn stars + models constantly. Essentially their expectations were not realistic. I think some things CAN influence people's perceptions and expectations of people, depends how things're done etc., what it is. I think we should all return to being pagan and worship women. Some people would say that's too feminist for the 21st century. XD (Some guys do treat women like objects though, just like some women treat men like that too...)

Games need to have less violence, it's true. We need to substitute all those graphic explosions and scenes of meaningless death with more sex and gratuitous nudity in our video games. Sex is cool, and no one gets hurt. Of course we'll make sure that all the models are at least above the legal age, etc. But it'll be awesome! Think about. Instead of blowing up that headcrab zombie, you turn it into a Carmen Electra zombie, who then proceeds to do a lapdance...and more! When you blow up a tank, it'll become like a thousand Carmen Electras.

So my opinion is easy. Society is made from people not from movies or games. The movies or games can only form the way,but the primary target of the society is chosen by people.So if the society chose any way that she chose, not movies either games can change the way which she would chose. ;)

What does that mean? socity has a gender? im confused, i dont realy understand. But i agree socity is made for the people, but your forgeting, that games and movies are made for people to. And its the "people" tht want to keep games and movie, and its also the "people" who wants to gt rid of some of it. Just by saying if they dont want it kill, it and if they want it keep it makes it sound like its easy.

I dont think these things are bad for our society I think nowadays parents dont teach their kids right from wrong like they used too. Hearing somebody say this song or movie made them do it is stupid. Parents have to watch their kids and let them know if they do something wrong they will get punished for it.

I can always imagine people trying to be internet police, fact is, it doesn't work, my two cents stay this way :" as long as your mom or dad doesn't come in and witness you holding your pelvic paladin in action over child smut " ... you are fine.
Plus, the added bonus if your dad doesn't exactly act like "Jim's Dad" (watch American Pie) you are fine too, just be sure to lock the door next time. Enjoying porn is not wrong, enjoying violence is not either, if you are offended, or simply belongs to the dark ages, too bad, you really should go to church and stay there all through the week except Mondays (you gotta work at least a day a week right?)
I will never censure one person from looking at porn, I always consider it as valuable information, tells your kid where they came from, in a more progressive manner too, at the day and age when violence is all around us, we really shouldn't think in one dimensional positions.

if you think about it almost everybody thats doesn't have religon reasons not to look at porn does. And I dont think playing violent games make people violent. I never thought about killing anybody, and i play alot. And some things can't be done even if you want, since when did u find an alien race to kill to save the world? Or turn into a demon with 10 tenticals going around dark allys at night raping people? it's not possible, and anybody who looks and plays this stuff is smart enough to know right from wrong.

There's nothing wrong with any of it. The real crime is repressing it to the point where it becomes a secret shame, a fetish if you will, that is forbidden, and thus desirable. The very first cave drawings ever weren't or deer or sheep, despite what you may think. Just pictures of female genitalia (i.e. pornography). If you want to say people are vile and disgusting, hey go ahead, I can't argue with you. But I feel that lying to ourselves about the reality of our personalities and consequently denouncing others as less holier or less decent or whatever is a load of bull.
I place the blame of crime in the U.S. squarely on the shoulders of repression. Repression of our desires, respression of the lower class by the higher one, repression of intelligence by those in power who know that docile and ignorant sheep are easier to lead. The problem is, some people don't like to be repressed, hence crime.
Again, not all crime can be attributed to repression (well, maybe it can, but I'm not sure I could argue that point), but I feel that the discrepancy in crime rates between the U.S. and other countries can be effectively expressed that way.

How many of us that have parents that are aginst this stuff? by our age our parents don't realy say much.... because they know we'll tell them there crazy. but its usauly the parents with only 1 kid and the kid is 4 years old. And they complain that mario is going around steping on turtles....over protective and very out dated in society parents i must say. It's year 2006 parents. The world believe it or not doesn't just revolve around politics. It's the age of internet and technology. Entertainment is a huge money making buisness, imagin if you country said that there goin to test play each game to see wether is violence is allowed in the country and all, and end up banning 50% of games.....i smell riots
