I honestly don't believe in it but if it ever happens to me, I'll be surprised. If there's a thread like this then I'm sorry. Feel free to delete it if there's another one like this. I searched and there wasn't a thread like this. I'm just curious. Hopeless romantic probably do believe but that's just my opinion.

I'm not sure, I think that you actually have to know someone before you can love them, you can't just see them and be in love.

hmm...i think there is. somehow it can be some chemical reaction psychologically, especially when at that time we know nothing about love. it's just that when it happen for the first time we might not realize it because we're unsure...Wondering "what's wrong with me? why is it i feel so ankward?" may be the first question. but i'm not sure about the happening on those who understands what is love but haven't fall in love yet.

this was based on my own experience during my immature years: i was sitting in my classroom doing my homework. after concentrating for hours, i decided to give my eyes a rest. unexpectedly, one of my female classmate passed by me. all of the sudden i felt my eyes hooked onto her. i started to feel strange why i'm gazing at her for soooo long as if there's something special at her, like something beautiful. the next day soonafter, i began to realize it's love.
True enough, it's clearly falling in love....

i agree with kokuyu. there is love at first sight, but really, don't depend on it. When you fall in love with someone at first sight, it probably means you like his/her appearance. Never tell a book by it's cover. I had a friend who "fell in love" with this guy from her school. Later, the guy asked her out and stuff. And now, she just found out that her so called boyfriend (who i bet was good with girls) was already in another relationship even before he met her. Like gosh... she didn't even know him! How could she have trusted him so easily? but then again, love is blind.

I agree with xholicx and kokuyu to some degree. I don't think there is love at first sight but I think it's lust as first sight. I think people get attracted to each other, at first, because of their apperences and looks. How hot they are and stuff but if anyone has ever read Romeo and Juliet then that's love at first sight. So I guess there is but the topic of love is very complicated sometimes.

No, I don't believe in it. I've never fallen for somebody like that ... It's the way I feel towards other. I know if I like someone by LOOKING at them, it's just I like their looks. It doesn't say anything to me, I'm not a shallow person, nor can I tell how a person is just by seeing their appearence. All the people I thought looked nice turned out to be horrible people, and I no longer liked them. This "love at first sight" is merely a reaction towards physical attraction, don't fall for it. It only has worked for a few people, they were lucky I suppose. You're better of being friends or co-workers first and then going with it.

this is very hard to say yes to but the only problem is when you see someone you dont really know them so you could be just falling in love with their beauty is this love? what about the personality?

I know that love at first sight is something that can happen because it happened to me. When I met my first true love I fell for him instantly. And it is weird because the first things that we said to each other we were making fun and teasing each other. But when I first saw him I knew I wanted to be with him and that I would do anything to get him. We teased each other and messed with each other for a week before he asked me out. I think we were doing the kindergarten thing of hit each other and being mean to each other because we liked each other. I feel in love with him 5 minutes after meeting him so I know that there is love at first sight. :)

I don't believe you can "fall in love" at first sight..Not real love, anyway. I believe you can become infatuated at first sight (been there, done that) but to actually fall in love, no. I have to agree with Siri there--to love someone, to really be in love them, you have to know them.
Then again...On a related matter, when you see your child for the first time, I guarantee you'll love them. Hell...My younger brother was born when I was 7 1/2-years-old. The first time I saw him, I loved him and knew I'd do anything to protect him. He's 17 now and I'd still give my life to protect him...That's my baby brother.

if that happens u will fall in love with the appereance of a person, but not a deep love. but although i think the appereance of a person do tells alot about a person.
you can tell how a person will react by their gesture and i think mostly by the way they dress.... lol i had a long ting to say but i just forgat instantly...

i dont think there is you have to spend enough time with someone to know if they are the one and i think u cant just love them in SOME time u need to spend alot of time with them and go through hardships together to really get to know how much you love them
