I would have to say Tsume from Wolf's Rain when he died that made me cry so much...infact the whole last episode of Wolf's Rain made me cry to the very end.

I'm a real softy so I cry a lot but here are a few of the most heartbeaking ones for me

Basilisk - Kouga Ninpou Chou - Okois death was damn cruel and I still cry when I see it.
Nana - It was horrible to read of Ren's death, just made me awfully sad.
Versailles no Bara - Andre's death hit me big time especially when Oscar started crying.

It was pretty emotional to me especially since i kind of like her but the more sad i was the more i enjoyed it that it was just some kind kind of daydream from tomoya still i was very confused.

Fullmetal Alchemist - Maes Hughes' death (major waterworks)
Trigun - Wolfwood's death (it's even worse in the manga)

First time for me to cry about a death in a anime for me :( Was so many times that i actually had tears going down my face. I love Nagisa and Ushio so much. Saddest part in the whole series to me was when Tomoya was walking with Ushio in the snow and how the last thing she said was *I love you daddy* before little Ushio died. Wow... as I just typed that my eyes started to get watery =,( Love Clannad so much.

But seriously, Maes Hughes's death had me crying for ages afterward. I even wwent off FMA for a while.
