hay everyone is allways sayin that oh the english ichigo sounds retarded and the enlish rock lee sounds like a homo and how english rukia sounds like a dude but this is about who sounds good in the english dubed form EX. alphons from FMA sound's like a little kid kinda liike he wants to cry or somthin but that makes it seem realistic right do any of you have anyone else you think sounds better in english than jap oh yea and another Garra sounds childish but in japanes he sounds manly i like it better when he sounds more lik ea child but still kicks @$$ like that

Myself i havent come across a dub that has been better than the japanese version, granted i havent listened to english and japanese to most series ive seen.

But i have found good dubs to series, such as the Ah! My Goddess movie, Read Or Die the TV and OVA

i really don't think there isn't any english one that could be good at all. japanese people are really good at selecting the sound of the charater's voice they sound like what the charater's sound should be. not even chinese sounds is good as japanese.

The japanese version is generally the best version since it is the original version of the voices, however some english dub animes have good voice overs. I admitt that i've run into bad voices in the english dub, but for the some of the animes i've seen in both japanese and english you could go with either and be fine with it.

Running A Critiquing Service

hate english dubs. Screws the 'japanese feeling.' Depends though. Expert dubs for movies such as Mononoke Hime i dont midn too much.

If you're looking for a good English dubbed anime I'd recommend any of the Slayers seasons and Cowboy Bebop. It seems that companies vary for how well they do too. The recent stuff that Funimation has done is very good and in my opinon most Bandai titles are good as well. I've seen Rurouni Kenshin and found that dub enjoyable as well.

I think a lot of the good vs. bad is based upon most people's opinons though, so this is only my point of view. People can choose to miss out if they want, but I always stress that you shouldn't knock it until you've tried it - or in this case - listened to it. :)

ok i have another to add that was escaping me till the vido tape hit my head earlyer today usagi tuskino From sailor moon is much better in english than in japanes

in fact to tell the truth i like all the sailor scots better in english than japanes but that might just be a contrast of anicipes (don't yell i know i misspelled it)

i seen inuyasha in english first so i sorta got use to the english voice and wen i saw the jap version i guess it didnt sound as good

i like more the japanes version i think that the real anime!but well i saw Inuyasha in english version and i like it ,but i prefer the japanes version more

I think that english anime-dubbing is getting worse and worse. it sounds like they use the same actors again and again. what i think is the most saddest is that, when they change the voice of the characther they also change their personality. i do prefer to watch Chobits in english then japanese, but i do prefer the japanese version to most of the anime i watch :)

JAPANESE VERSION! it's the greatest! cuz' they "train" to have a good voice and empathy to the anime ^^

A Nightmarish Gift

personally i haven't come across very many good dubs. Though the Ghost in the Shell series have been the best so far for me (then again most of Project I.G's animes have been dubbed well). Also I once watched Desert Punk in english and japanese, and there are some rare cases like this one where the english actually sounds better...But overall I would ALWAYs perfer the japanese version. But if you look at Bleach, thats a poor dub..I'm sorry but the characters are emotionless and sound like they would rather become a zombie then spend more time talking.

the only good english dub i think i have heard that was good has to be inuyasha

The best dub I've ever heard is Hellsing. The english actors are amazing. Not better than the original, but not worse.
