Esther hails from the city of Istavan, and grew up with a nun, Reverend Mother Laura, who treated her like a daughter. When Abel meets her, she has just murdered a man to avenge Laura. A vivid, star-shaped birthmark adorns her side, marking her as the Albionion "star of hope" (Note: Esther means "star" in Hebrew). This mark later proves her to be part of the royal family of Albion, and she ascends the throne to become queen.
