This is my second wallie, my first got deleted. >.<
I extracted a scan that i found then, applied gaussian blur to have a better shot of the pic. Im just starting to learn
little by little... and hopefully learn more from you guys.
If you have comments or suggestions to improve my skills, please feel free to tell... i very much appreciate it...

I like the abstract, but the problem is that Lacus & Meer is too grainy in here. The abstract may have been too blurred so try to lessen the blur.

The best tool for extraction will always be the pentool, because you can manoeuvre it around curves and stuff so the result is really clean.
http://www.imanimetions.net/ has a really good extraction tutorial- if that doesn't work, finding a pen tool tutorial will help ^.^

As for the background, are there any other ways of communicating the theme of reflection?
I think that you can do something funky with the text.

Grunge is pretty free-form, all you need is grunge brushes, check out Deviant Art. I, personally, don't think grunge is the way to go with this pretty pic of Lacus and Meer. Play up the "reflection" theme some, like kuroimisa said. What version of Photoshop are you using, just out of curiousity?

Much, much, much better! Here is the only thing I think you still need to do: check out the cleaning tutorial at Imanimetions. The scan is a little too grainy. You might want to put something under them to stand on, too. :)

uhhmm... i noticed that i extracted too much on Lacus' hair and a bit of staircases at Meer's lower left
hair... so i modified it...

Oh now the 8th version is an improvement, but the stars in the other one look odd

are the stars a bother? others said its ok, since the BG looks plain...
i adjusted the color tone, coz the others said that the BG looks like in the "cool pink" tone rather in a "warm pink" tone coz of the blue... so i tinkered with it a bit... and here it is.

maybe you can add like wings at the back of them, yups, to make the wallie a little more fancy, cause it looks a little
plain! ^^ maybe some feathers scattered not too much though to make the feathery effect! ^^ and than you can add like

ehehhehe, thank you too Uchiha... so you've noticed the improvement from 1st version up to the 10th... XD but sadly, i can still see some white spots from my scan so, im still fixing it...
