Memories of Eliteness

it's not terribly grainy at this size...if can ask, what all did you do with it so we can see where else to go?

Right off the bat, I can tell you the text sticks out too much.

Ripping walls? You're headed to Banned-ville.
Signature Image

uhmm... i did it with Median, then smart blur and gaussian... ^_^

Do you have bigger version, like at least 1024x768?
The wall is sort of blurry, the text is a bad thing. Hmm...yeah.

It looks overfiltered I think, your losing all the details. It's fine to use filters, but try duplicating the original scan layer and filter the duplicated layer, then turn down the opacity, or use 'soft light' for the duplicated and filtered layer.

How big is the original scan? And does it look grainy before you coverted to JPEG? Because I think the 'grainy-ness' you mentioned may be due to JPEG compression. JPEGs and reds/oranges never get along nicely, so when you save as from a PSD file, you'd have to use the JPEG optimizer and set the compression value to the lowest possible.

But like gaara said, try using http://imageshack.us to post the original size wallpaper so we can see it better. :)

thanks again for the help...

i tried to do what you said, so here it is...

at first i used overlay... then now soft light...

Much okay with the the text, without the dropshadow. But when comparing those two, it's like you change the whole wallpaper. I noticed the background also changed , like you duplicated the whole wallpaper, and applied the soft light effect. Hmm...

well first off, i duplicated the layer, then noise-median, then smart blur the first layer, then soft light the 2nd layer...then merge...

is it better the 1st one? O.o?

It looks overfiltered, try taking out some of those filters if possible. What was the original image that you started with? (and how big was it?)

ohh~ i see... so they say... XD

here's the one i tried 2 days ago...
