I just got finished watching the last episode of Kanon 2006 and got 2 different impressions from it either ayu died or woke up.....could someone explain it

Eh, they did it on purpose. a lot of anime companies like to leave you hanging like that so you'll watch the next part of it they're gonna put out. in the case of kanon 2006 i think they did it just to yank peoples chains. shiranai. maybe they'll put out and extra ep at some point, although i haven't heard anything

Nope Ayu didnt die, she woke from the coma in the end and is using a wheelchair while she is still recovering. ^^ Hope that helps!

which he think... in other word, he is weak and have no courage
to face the fact.Then, the "KANON" happens, so at you see , U1 come back to town which he lived 7 years ago,and met Nayuki,Makoto,Mai
Shori and Ayu... All of these is to let U1 remind the case on that
day...Ayu fall down and "dead"...So, When U1 reminded the 5 other person nearly all disappeared
He don't want to lost Ayu, so he face to fact...at that time miracle
happens...the fact is Ayu didn't die at all...You can say the fault
is all owed to U1? :)At last we can infer they all live in happiness...in the dream and
miracle spreaded by KANON...

First what the hell is U1?!?(Hopefully this means Yuuichi )
Secondly Ayu's last wish that the person closest to her would keep smiling ever dentally Created Ayu's spirit Also leaving the viewer under the impression that she had died however she did not die she was in a coma it is plane as day- May 03, 2008

I thought the ending was pretty clear... Yes, for a while it seemed as if she might have died, but then we find out that she had been in a coma all along. However, she does eventually wake up, and the last we see of her she is in a wheelchair and recovering.
