And the biggest problem is that you don't even know the boy! Well, believe it or not, that happened to me... yesterday, in school. I was getting very sick, so I asked the teacher to let me go to the medical postal in my school. He said yes, so I went there and rested for 1 hour, aprox. :hmpf: Then... you would say: But that's normal.. what's the interesting part, then? o_0 I tell you, here it comes... When the doctor woke me up, I was rather better than before, so I decided to enter the class.. But when I entered... The whole classroom, I mean, all, absolutely ALL began to shout and to say : Hey, John, here she comes! (by "she", they were reffering to me (I'm a girl). What sexy! (John is the name of the boy... is ugly, in addition I have never spoken with him.) I believe that everything began by a heart that was in the slate, that said: Chia & John... The worse thing is than to the boy they annoyed it with another ugly girl! If I were in ur shoes, depending on if ur cinical and everyone knows it, I would jokingly say something like "I dont like him, I'm gay u faggot..." And since u throw in that last part, people realize that ur not gay and also not in love with said person. But like I said, that depends on how mature u are in the eyes of the audience. Otherwise, they'll start saying ur actually gay. Then again, it's easy for me to manipulate the beliefs of my peers because I dont give a rip for what they think and they know it. Best thing to do is not let it get to u and play it off as u see fit. Cancel

Hmm... Similar thngs happened to me too. It's a couple of years ago but the boy wasn't the person I never knew, he was my friend. We went out together and got teased when the other found out. Ignore them is probably the best thing you should do... well... Hope they'll stop soon ^^ Cancel

Oh. What a question and very interesting replies too. This situation happened to me pretty often too. Haha, some of those 'rumours' were pretty nasty, trust me. Well, i would just take a second or two to 'glare' at the person who teased me. Then he/she would shut up almost immediately, then i'll just smile and say 'I'm available at the moment, so anyone interested in claiming me just call my dad. We have the same phone number and we live in the same house'. The moment i mentioned 'my dad'...well, the rumours DIED immediately. Cancel

Keep calm... I know you a girl and I have a friend have the similiar experience.

She first thought just "play~play" for joke ,and make the boy as a FAKE friend

but as time flies, she slightly found this boy is good...and....the fake became TURE...

It seems absurd but it was ture...

I'm not sure if the case will became this...

If that happen , it must hurt your self-respection ,right?

That's happened to me, except that I knew the guy they said that I [i]liked[/i]... People kept telling us things like, "Oh ... you know proms coming up? You should go with (Danny)!" At first it was annoying... But then we started playing along! It was funny; we did that up to the end of high school. And the very funny thing, was that we were both homosexual. So... people assume what they want - just let them. It's not a situation that's going to [i]kill[/i] you; and it may help to talk to this guy, you know, to clear things up. Cancel

Yup, that's happened to me. Thankfully not with anyone awful at all, but a really nice, smart guy... He's top of my year (apart from me), and because we're both right up there everyone was always, 'Oooh, you like him!'. I mean, what the heck?! I'd barely talked to the guy... anyway, once I got to know him a little better, I [i]did[/i] start to like him. But I also liked this other guy, and he (the other guy) asked me to the formal. I said yes, sooo... obviously nobody says I like this other guy now. But it was rather amusing. And ironic that I ended up liking him anyway! Cancel

SIDENOTE: A lot of these replies made me laugh. You people are hilarious. Something kinda/sorta like that happened to me and my friends once. Rumors started up in my school about how me (being a girl) and my best friend Jessica (also being a girl) were in love with each other. We couldn\'t help but think that this was funny and even teased each other about it. But then I had a fight (over something COMPLETELY UNRELATED) with our other friend Erin (another girl), and naturally everybody thought that Erin liked Jessica and Jessica was gonna leave me and that was why I was pissed at Erin. x_x Sick thing was, we all had boyfriends..... :hmpf: Wanna know how I got over it....? I pretended to be sick and stayed home for a few days. ;) Cancel
