Didn't see a thread on this excellent movie...

WOW, is all i got to say about this movie! the effects where awesome. The character development was great! An you should go out and watch it!

--To escape from postwar repression during the fascist regime in Spain in 1944, Ofelia, a lonely kid living with her mom and adoptive father, creates a dream world filled with fantastic creatures. But in the end its all fantasy and that is what makes it such a sad movie...

ITs been released on dvd, and is subbed in english, Language is Spanish of course ><,

If not this is the motivation you need to go rent, download, buy w/e. you just have to go see it! 5/5!

Pans Labyrinth is simply the finest [read best] foreign cinematic movie of last year.
it should have won an Oscar-imo.

I definitely agree, everyone should go see this movie. Slash that, everyone except kids since the movie is rated R and some of the scenes would give a kid nighmares. By the way, the movie is out on DVD.

YEah im sure some of the scenes such as when they are in the store house during the toture parts >.o might have a negative effect on the kiddies.

This movie is incredible! Ever since I heard about it, I knew it was the perfect movie for me (I'm a fan of fantasy). So I ended up watching it in the theater earlier this year, and I liked it so much, I've decided I'll probably ending up buying the DVD.

This may be a spoiler, but did anyone else think the ending was cruel? T_T

I just saw it a couple of hours ago, actually. I wouldn't say it was the best movie I've ever seen, but I definitely liked it. It was different and that made it all the more appealing.

Not all movies are depressing like apocalypto had a good ending i think...
I just wish they wouldve showed more of the spanish armada!

maybe one of the greatest films i've ever seen. and yes the film was a little depressing but i guess thats one of the elements that made it great. i liked how the general died.

It was one of the coolest fantasy movies I've ever seen.
And it wasn't even American.
The whole mixture of war and fairy tales gave it such a unique atmosphere.
I can't help but feel that even though the ending was sad, the main character still lived happily ever after.
Anyway, kick-ass movie all around.

We are all born and look different, but one thing makes us equal, our admiration of Japanese animation and comics.
Live life the way you want to live it.

Definitely one of the best! ...the best for me actually since I expected it to be a kiddie movie and in english......my best mistaken assumption EVERRRR! XD It is kind of depressing but I came out of it quite happy in a way....weird lol

It's a beautiful movie . I watched it a month back . It's got pain , sorrow , horror , fantasy and dreams interwined wonderfully .

unexpectedly dark fantasy, not really a movie that children will understand but for an older audience very good, especially on its budget;)
