Holdin onto the past!

o.k since many of us can draw here on minitokyo (i'm sure). I'm just wondering how many are working on a manga of their own, or draw mangas in general. I just started my first manga last night. It is titled "Seraph and the royal spirit crown" it's about, Seraph, an angel from the spirit world that is convicted of robbing the royal spirit crown from the king of the spirit world. He is forced out of the spirit world and into the human world. While that is happening, Ribuki Hariba (the cutest guy in school type of charater) is in love with Taira Muramusa (shy girl who talks to no one). The day he finally gathers enough courage to ask her out, Seraph jumps out of the spirit world and ruins Ribuki's chance at asking her out. Seraph lies to Ribuki and poses as his guardian angel. Seraph takes shelter in Ribuki's home; but the Ribihami (spirit world monster authorities) find out where Seraph has taken shelter and start to appear in the human world as gigantic monsters. The entire manga is about how Ribuki and Seraph become best friends take on the ribihami, life, and finding out who framed Seraph. While attempting to make Ribuki's dream of dating Taira come true. While doing this i found out it is very hard to format the layout of the page, and the events. But what i want to know is what is the story of your manga, what do you find difficult when drawing and doing the manga?

Uchuu no Kensei Cylanser

Well.... some people (icluding myself) can't draw that well, but they imagine their own manga, in my case I've been doing this since I was 7 (which means for 11 years), my manga hasn't a name yet, but usually I refer to it as "Dragon Hero", the plot is kinda complex because of the time I've been doing this, check my roleplays for more info if that's what you want

My own body is my weapon, other weapons are just extensions of my body
Cosmo-Orichalcon is my body and Cosmic Force Sol Inferno my blood
I am the emissary of burning justice, the Uchuu no Kensei
I am Cylanser, the Battle God of the Cosmic Sun Inferno

....Something?

i cant draw but ur books sound intesting

don't correct my spelling

Interesting concept. Sounds like you've given yourself a lot of opportunity to draw massive battles between Seraph and the gigantic monsters.

I used to do regular American comics (independent) and worked in the entertainment industry in Hollywood (pretty cool, but I really wanted to work on video games or do production design on movies - like the stuff the people do on all the Lord of the Rings extra dvds). I've liked manga and anime for years. When I was in high school, it wasn't cool, and nobody knew what it was, so I guess I was a little ahead of my time...

I showed my portfolio to Tokyopop at a convention and they were really interested in having me submit something, so I've really taken a crash course in drawing Manga the past few months, and I'm really happy with how things have been turning out. I'll probably approach them next week at the San Diego Comic Con, so wish me luck! I have a lot of ideas, from years of daydreaming, so I wouldn't know where to start in describing my ideas.

anima241, that sounds awesome! It's a good idea, I hope you post it somewhere (and let me know) because anything involving angels and giant monsters sounds like my kind of thing :D Your ideas are so neat! I hope your comic goes on well :D

And to answer your question, yea, I write my own comic... Not particularly original or well done, but I'm quite proud of it, hosted on http://9card.smackjeeves.com It's about a boy who finds a sword that has a neat secret... And well, there's lots of swords and action-- in theory. So far there's not much of that ^^;

oy thanks Haomaru, and now that you gave me a link where i can host my manga, i might just very well put it on there hehe. I don't have time now to read your comic but i will read it tomorrow and let you know how it was in your guest book. As for LazarusTokyo I think its awesome that you can go to tokyopop conventions, I wish they had one where i live...

Missing that little Devil.

I can draw, but I don't have the time or patient to do that, and in the top of that I am a very good writer, it would be nice, but don't have time for that, sorry.

Hey... I was wondering, maybe after we die... will there be... cake?

When I draw out an idea, I develop it over a few weeks. But when I get to a point, I realize, I only draw the story to the point I would probably only like it.:-3 I am bad like that. I have seen mostly amateur artists draw prequels and spin offs to already popular manga, and I find it sad, since you are not very creative, if you can't come up with your own central story. My stories are usually love oriented. My current story is like this.
Once in a land very much like ours, there lived a people. There they used magic as if the world dictated them to do that. Originally magic was only available to the elfs, and this angered the elves, seeing the humans receive magic from the ancients, so eventually wars broke out among the races. Magic was only intended to allow life, but offensive magick was born from the bare essentials. Defensive magic was created to guard. Life magic was born to preserve. Dark magic was born to take it away. Any kind of magic was born as a result of these wars. Eventually magick was developed to the point of curses, and even corrupting the mind, body, even the soul of those that were effected by it. Little did one man know this kind of magick existed.
A great wizard had been bestowed twin boys. He knew each of them had great potential for the magicks, as a special stone reacts to those that are able to use magic. But, reprisal was bound to follow a man who killed elves for a living. One elf he killed, muttered a demon curse, one that would harm his loved ones. When he came home to his wife, and embraced her, she immediately fell ill, and die within weeks. A strange symbol had burned into her body, the shape of a snake. Not knowing what to do, and feeling helpless, he took his children away from their home. But, as a result one of his children gained the same snake, but because he was a baby, he would not last as long as the mother. So the father had to learn of a magic that would allow his son to live.
Taking refuge with a local group of nomads, he eventually discovered such a magic. The curse that was placed on his was a magic, that in a way, makes the human body reject its soul. For some odd reason, the other son did not have the snake symbol on him. Learning of magic called Duality, he understood there was the ability that if he were to bind his soul to another, then he would live. Seeing as they were twin brothers, they were perfect for it. But, this magic required the user's life in order to work. But he did not have enough time, so with all his might, he removed the cursed child's soul, and placed it in the body already occupied with the other son's soul. Because the curse only affected the son's body, the soul remained intact, but the father died. The twin that survived was left in the care on the nomad's doctor and his daughter. As the boy developed, he always thought it was normal to have 2 souls in his body, but as he was a gentle boy, his twin was a crazy boy. But he discovered something from his experiences of his brother possessing, by closing his left eye, his brother would not be able to come out, but would it be enough to stop him?

I think I was out of my mind when I thought this story up.
