Chobits: How does it all fit together!?!

Well I just finished viewing/reading that great classic Chobits by Clamp! Needless to say, I thought it was a funny and enjoyable series. However, apon its conclusion, questions arrose. For instance, at the end of the series, those two persicons on the rooftop talk about how it is acceptable that two persicons should be able to fall in love with one another; shortly after, the smaller girl persicon blushes and the bigger male persicons mentions that persicons should feel emotion. Did Chi somehow enable persicons to have feelings or something? What's more, Chi's sister, Freya, tells us that she and Chi are not Chobits - and that Chobits don't have emotions. So then, if Chi and Freya are above the level of "Chobits", what's a chobit? What makes them different from other persicons? Lastly, what is the reasoning/irony about Hidiki making Chi's "password" the name "Chobits" at the end of the Manga? It's funny, I never fully realized Hidiki's sacrafice of loving Chi till I read the Manga - the Anime made it unclear as to "what" he'd be missing out on by loving a persicon!

In the anime, it seems like Chii's program DID enable persocoms to feel emotions. In the manga, that's not as clear. Keep in mind that Yuzuki, Jima and Dita, and possibly Kotoko, are very sophisticated PCs with advanced programming. Their emotions are always going to be a part of their programming, but it's a question of whether that makes them any less real than human emotions--is love love, no matter where it originates? (After all, some people believe that human emotions are just chemical reactions in the brain.)

Chitose explains that "Chobits" is simply the name the creator, Icchan, gave to Elda and Freya to signify that they are cute and that they are a gift for her. The true-AI "Chobits" of Internet legend don't exist. (Though, in my opinion, Freya and Elda's learning programming makes them pretty darn close to true AI.)

I don't know about the irony of his choice; it seemed to me that it was just that he accepted what a Chobit really was (and that he finally realized the necessity of creating a password!).

BTW, other full-sized persocoms can have sex. The only reason Chii can't is because her reset button is inside herself. I assume she was made that way so that falling in love with her would have to be based on something other than sex.
