I absolutely agree with Northy! You can have your freedom of expression, but you sure as hell better be prepared to deal
with the consequences of your actions! People are quick to cry for their rights, but no one wants to acknowledge
personal responsibility. "Freedom of Expression" is being abused and turned into a "Get Out Of Jail
Free!" card. You have to start drawing the line and holding people accountable for their actions.
And that child may have "rights to expression", but what about the other students rights to feel safe at
school? With all of the school violence that has been happening I'd be angry with the school if they overlooked this
issue. If you let them off with "freedom of expression", what if you end up letting off a student that really
is troubled and ends up hurting/killing someone? Brushing it off as a joke or an outlet is not only irresponsible, it's
downright foolish. There are healthier ways to vent than to make a list of people you wish were dead, and honestly,
that's a bad sign to me because you're obviously dwelling on the fact you wish they were dead.

don't know wherever to laugh or to cry. I mean I can't get how there's people who actually believe and get concerned
about it.
Of course it's an issue! There are people who write hit lists and kill their fellow students!
Quote by sovo-kunand from that
Video we can see how media in America tend to dramatize stuff
Dramatize? I know our media can get carried away with trivial stories, but this is a kid who wrote a list of names of
people he wished were DEAD! You don't need a lot of dramatizing to look at that and realize that something's seriously
wrong here.
Quote by sovo-kunhowever they
should consider who did he wrote in the deathnote if it s teacher and friends.. ok that ok it s a
joke
And why would that matter? If it's a joke that kid has a sick sense of humor, especially considering the number of
school violence incidents that have occured.

should have a way to express themselves. everyone has a lipstick list of the people who have wronged them. i think in
the case stated, he got cought with a written list. writing down your fealings and thoughts can be a healthy way to work
things out. you should not get in trouble for writing, isn't that a 1st amendment right in the us constitution? he
should get help dealing with his problems if he needs it, but he should not get in trouble for expressing his thoughts
on paper.
Writing a list of people that you wish were dead is healthy? And what about the people that have specific
"deaths" written out for them? I have a feeling that there isn't anyone here that would honestly be
comfortable if they found their names written in a book that listed how someone wished they would die. For every action,
there is a reaction: If you're going to write your thoughts you'd better be prepared to face the reaction of others.
