Advice on Shakugan No Shana Vector

This is a vector I am working on for SNS. I am planning on making this a 53" x 40" poster to hang in my room. So, I want it to look as best as possible. I've put about 2 days of work into Shana alone. The style I used for outlining was just stroke paths with an 8 pixel border. *(By the way..does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on how to make shape paths properly. I'm having such a difficult time figuring out how to use it)* I really need some advice on how I can improve her hair, because I think right now it doesn't look as great as it could due to a jump between solid fills and gradient fills for the darkest strands of hair. (It took such a long time to pick the right color for the hair...because all the oranges looked awkward that eyedropped from the scan) Another part I need help with is how to make a nice reflective surface (such as in the eyes and the Alastor's amulet). I've tried using the gradient to transparent tutorial, but that just doesn't make them look shiny enough.

Well, I think that is as much description I can think of. Any criticism is welcome because I want to make this look as best as possible.

Ps. I haven't done Yuuji yet (lol) only his basic outline. So obviously don't critique him, only Shana :)

This is quite good already i think. I suggest you use a lighter shade of orange that is midway between the shades of red and orange you are using now. I'm only an amateur though so i shouldn't say too much...just wanted to tall you that when you access the ImageShack hosting website, there should be an option that allows you to set a different size. If you want to leave it as it is, you should click that off. Maybe you know this already and it's a prob with the site instead. Sorry if that is the case. I dont think i helped much... >_<

Ahh...I finally figured out what I did wrong...the file size was too big. I just saw on Imageshacks main page that pictures need to be less than 1.5mb. Now THIS one should be a lot bigger..

And to aozoraskies, thanks, really, any advice or comments are more than appreciated. ^_^ Even if it is something really simple.

i watched the vid and it does seem to be quite informative about how to draw curved a straight paths with the pen tool. DREAM gave the link btw.

That was a nice video, but it was for learing how to make line paths (which I use currently use for my vectors). They give you nice consistant lines, which is nice. But I need to learn how to do the shapes path (which most people use for vectors because it gives those nice thick and thin lines).

Okay! I have finished the first draft of this vector! Please let me know what I can improve. In particular with the hair and eyes (how to make eyes look more realistic and shiny).

(And I'm sorry about the size, I had to resize it so many times in order for it to fit on imageshack...it's only 45% of the original size)
