Hello,

I'm currently making a new layout for Minitokyo. The current one looks outdated and loads slow. I'm currently looking for beta testers for the new layout.

This new layout will unfortunately render all the current layouts unusable, the main reason why a new layout has been postponed for over two years.
The upside is that the new userpage will be more customizable, and the site in general will be faster. This update is an aesthetic one only, no main features will be added or removed.

If you are interested, or have suggestions in general for the site, please leave a reply.

The new layout will not go live before mid july.

So wait, none of our layouts will work anymore? Will we be able to make new ones? Because I'm working on a new one right now. Should I just put that project on hold if it's not gonna work in the near future?

If you want a tester for different OS's and browsers, I'd be happy to test.
I have several flavors of Linux readily available to boot to, with about two dozen different browsers between them.

Not that the browsers really matter, since the Big Three (IE, Fx and Saf) make up the bulk of viewers...

dslassey: yes, the current layouts will not work anymore under the new layout. Whatever you have put under custom content will remain though. If you would put up a new layout now, expect it to be good for another two months. If that is too little time, apply as a beta tester to start customizing using the new layout, or wait. You can currently have a different layouts under the old and new one simultaneously.

Oh sweet. What would being a beta tester require? I'm sorta interested. ^^

I wouldn't mind helping out as well as a beta tester. I don't post a lot on the forums, so it would give me a chance to help be productive in another way.

For browsers I can help with testing on FireFox, IE, and Opera. I don't mind trying others as well (Netscape still used? lol)

I don't know that much about sql or php things, but have a decent knowledge in html, some java, and bb codes, though I don't know how much help any of that would be.

I'd be happy to help though in anyway that I could :)

This signature violates the signature guidelines, thus it has been removed.

I like the fact that Mt will be faster. Loading time was always my number one problem when visiting this site.

I have one suggestion; it doesn't have a whole lot to do with layouts, but maybe instead of having the enlarge option, there could just be larger thumbnails? A lot of people get confused with enlarging and downloading.

I personally vote against 100x100 avatars, seeing how an emphasise is on scans, wallpapers, and artwork, rather than a user's avatar. I have a lot of suggestions that I'll email to ya, Sheqel (or whoever's adress is the one you supplied us beta testers).
