Should Shinn completely blame Orb for the death of his family?

Okay I've been watching Gundam Seed Destiny again (but in english this time) and I was thinking should Shinn completely blame Orb for the death of his faimly? I get that by Uzumi Nara Athha ordering everyone to evacuate Orb was a big part of the reason he lose his family. But at the same time when he and his family were leaving Orb, his little sister Mayu drops her cell phone and instant of just leaving it like her mother said she wanted to go get her phone, and Shinn goes to get it for her, which is pretty much the reason he lives and loses his family. But if they had just left the phone his family would have lived. And I know Shinn would never blame his sister Mayu for the death of there parents but isn't it also her fault just as much as it is Uzumi's fault?

I'm gonna make this answer simple and short because I'm kind of tired and don't feel like debating XD so my answer/opinion to your question is: of course not!

Things happen in war and there's little point blaming others once it's done and over. Shinn is just an angsty kid who can't get over the loss of his family. It's tragic, yes, but his own actions in perpetuating the cycle of war makes him just a guilty for deaths of innocent people. He's just looking for something/ someone to direct his anger at.

That being said, I don't remember much about Destiny... >.>

i dont think he should blame ORB coz it's Kira's who open fire on them if he should blame someone he should blame Kira or OMNI enforcers/LOGOS and not ORB.

No, Shinn has no reason to blame Orb, or anyone (Kira, OMNI etc) for that matter. His family just happened to get caught in the war and got killed. That's the problem with Shinn (ie why I don't like him), he's an angsty kid who can't get over what happened and takes his anger out on others; because I think he's really mad at himself for not having the power to protect his family, but because of his childish nature, he can't, or doesn't want to, face that fact, nor accept it and move on.

Same thing with Stellar, he blames Kira for killing her. Yes, Kira did destroy the Destroy (lol), but if he hadn't, Stellar would have killed more people, including Shinn (because she was about to fire straight at Shinn, who was frozen). And Kira did do it because he wanted to, he did it to protect others as well. Shinn can't accept the fact that he was unable to protect Stellar, so he takes his anger out on Kira....

Shinn's character is what bothers me about Destiny, the fact that he's pretty much an angsty brat throughout, and doesn't develop much through the series...

I've noticed Shinn is a lot like Flay from Gundam Seed. They both hurt other people b/c they can't except what happen. So it makes sense that they blame other people when it can't be help in the middle of a war and blaming someone else is an childish way to deal w/ it, right?

(And personly I agree w/ MapleRose I don't really like Shinn, I'm just try to understand the situation better.)

I think no because he goes way to the extreme with it really I sitllf eel it was not cagalli's fault for that happening.

YES! Wait .. I mean NO! I really disliked Shinn and his attitude towards Orb and Cagalli as he blames them for the death of his family. Well it's not their fault! He was caught in the middle of a war, he can't just expect to have his family back alive again by blaming others. God, he's so irritating sometimes T.T I mean, hasn't HE killed other peoples' families as well when he fights in the war?
I agree, since Shinn can't get over the fact that this family was killed, he blames ORB and their ideals. What he fails to understand is that it wasn't easy to make these kind of decisions expecially when you have to consider not just HIS family, but everyone else as well. Seriously!

Hmm .. I don't think I make any sense XD But what I'm trying to say is that, Shinn has every right to blame ORB, but he should stop being a brat and get over it; it's a war for goodness sakes!

Much due to the same opinion. Just like Fllay blamed Kira for not protecting her father. Of course not. Kira did his best to protect but Athrun goes into pin-point blank shot one of those ships blew away like 'KABOOM!' just try to blame Rau's group. For Shinn, he shouldn't blame ORB but to blame is that cowardly purple-hair punk Yuna Seiran and so does OMNI from Azarael's group. I know how felt for Shinn losing love ones in the name of 'REVENGE' though. Blame Fukuda's starting GS to GSD became not number 1 anime. Anyways it cannot be helped.
