I've been thinking, if the term 'lolita' means cute little girls and it's counterpart is 'shota' or cute little boys... how 'bout the counterpart of 'moe'/attractive anime girls? Is there a term that refers to attractive boys? It's not 801/yaoi...

As far as I know,
.Bishounen and Bishies = beautiful male characters
.Bishoujo and Shoujo = beautiful female characters
.Harem = the only male character is being surrounded by females
.Reverse harem = the only female character is being surrounded by males (eg: Ouran High School Host Club)
Never heard the opposite of moe.. :hmpf:
orphy: Shouldn't you post in the General Anime & Manga thread instead in the Chat Lounge? ;)

I'll try to answer:
Shoujo-ai: love relationship between girls.
Shounen-ai: same as above, but replace girls with boys.
There's a problem, since I don't know the exact difference between yuri with shoujo-ai and yaoi with shounen -ai.
The rests are just my opinion:
Yaoi/yuri depict more 'serious' atmosphere.
Seinen: older boy, adult male
Josei: older girl, adult female
>>orphy-chan: sorry, no idea...
shoujo-ai is softer or what is called "lime". A lot is implied but not directly drawn or shown.
yuri is the hard-core all out version.
Shounen-ai & yaoi well you can guess...and well I always say a lil bit of shonen-ai is always better than yaoi! :D
and yeah... "josei" is older female. "seinen" is older male.
Trap: A cute little girl in a dress or skirt that happens to be a dude (and vice versa). That said, remove said trap by way of extermination and replace with a leg hungry bear trap.
Opposite of moe? Maybe josei. But I don't really know. As for attractive dudes, well they are bishies.
"I've seen it.. touched it.. felt it.. kissed it.. but I didn't french kiss it" - Chris Tucker (Rush Hour 3)
bishounen is more appropriate to bishoujo. I do think 'moe' is more of an expression when you see a really cute/pretty girl. So do the fangirls have a term for their bishies? Or do they also use that 'moe'? Need more fangirls to answer this one...
btw are seinen and josei adult love between two same sex?
Orpheuz, "seinen" and "josei" are terms that describe a genre. "Seinen" is an anime or
manga that is, more or less, aimed toward an older male genre. It might have romance, but it's probably going to be of a
heterosexual (female/male relationship) nature... depending on who creates the story, of course.
"Josei" is geared toward the female readers who are at around seventeen and older. Again, as mentioned above,
the relationships depend on the creator of a story in question.
"Moé/Moe", according to Wikipedia, is "a Japanese slang word" that refers to a "...love
for" characters in video games, anime, and manga.
Rue-chan had the correct definitions for the words.
I wish you luck with your search!
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

I see no reason why males cannot be moe. Take Hayate from Hayate no Gotoku when they force him to wear the maid uniform
and kitty ears and Momiji from Fruits basket. Obviously male characters aren't as moe for male viewers, but I see no
reason why all the characteristics can not be present in a male character.
Also note that no where in any definition does it say that "moe" characters must be female. They usually are
but that's not the point.
I hate space elves so very very much. Except the small ones are good on bagels.
Isn't it kinda weird to call a male char 'moe'? well that's just me... Correct me if I'm wrong but otakus and japs often use that expression on female characters, so I thought moe can only be used for girls. Besides I haven't heard anyone refer a guy as 'moe'... or do you?
