Now there are alot of scary movies and some are pretty hardcore, and others are more funny. 30 Days of Night (the one with vampires if you don't know) is my favorite scary movie of all time. What are you guys' favorite movie?

Most of my favs are from a few years (possibly decades) back. Jaws, Halloween (1978), Hellraiser, The Haunting (b&w), Suspiria, and a whole bunch of others. As for more recent movies... ...hmmmm... Kinda hard to say. Haven't found much scary material in recent times aside from Quarantine (a remake of a Spanish movie called REC).

Kinda discouraged from the more recent entries, knowing that the bulk of them are remakes of older films. ...Then again, perhaps I'm pushing myself away from the chance of additional scares.

I have lost of scary/humorous movies that are my favorites.
Mine - Jaws, Event Horizon, Aliens, Pet Sematary, In The Mouth of Madness, The Exorcist, and the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series.

Some of them are hilarious, some are sad, and some are actually quite scary. All deserved to be watched at least once. A few have very original plots which give them character by themselves. Others have once scene that will stick with you for a very long time. Yes, most of my picks are older movies, but they're all good... I promise! ;)

Saw movies.
It's scary how someone can toture to such extend to another human being.
Freddie vs. Jason.
I felt bad for Jason; he had such awful life.
Grudge. I was really freaked out when I saw this movie. Probably has to do with me being scared of ghosts and the supernatural.

I'm sorry but I thought 30 days of night was not scary and it was rather boring and quite tasteless...since I am not frighten by movies I will list my most favorite "halloween" movies...any nightmare on elm street, the excorist, the lost boys (original one, hated the lost tribe one) and for anime probably vampire hunter d bloodlust, blood the last vampire and others just to give a general idea ^_^

Let's see, long list ahead (die-hard horror movie fan):
The Shining: read the novel and seen the movie. The movie is scary, but I prefer the book.
Mirrors: some scenes had me cringing onto my friend's arm XD
Saw movies: even if others say they're getting repetitive, I still love them; and the plot twists at the end make them even more worthwhile.
Night Of The Living Dead (1990 remake): it scared me to death when I was a kid; I'm still building up the courage to "confront my past" a.k.a. watch it again someday XP
Dead Silence: live dolls are creepy, but I still loved that one.
The Descent: the extended ending was really creepy, the short one was crappy and stereotypical. I really recommend this for the always-present tension.
El Orfanato (The Orphanage): one of the best I've seen, it certainly has you thinking throughout it.
I haven't seen any recently, too busy with school. I still like the old horrors, even though they're not that scary :)

Oh, I forgot about Dead Silence, I watched that earlier this year, it was scary. I've always been partial to living dolls ^_^

I really wasn't fond of the awful ending in The Mist, it was very unsettling...same with The Ring actually...

New horror sucks. I like classic horror movies. My favourite s the Shining I'd say because it's a rare book>movie that turned out great. Then again, it was directed by Kubrick so there should be no surprise.
