Thanks for these changes! Now we can anticipate less questions on "how to" and "how much" popping up
about every little thing.
Still, may I suggest something? Although it's a bit unrelated... Quite frequently, when trying to full view a picture,
the loading progress tends to stop before the picture completes, even though the credit cost is applied once the link is
clicked. Thus, we often waste the few Free Download Quota slots we have, and sometimes quite a bit of credit as
well.
A make-shift measure passed around the forums was to use a download manager or similar to try and save directly from the
partially loaded picture, which wouldn't cost extra credit. However, there is a tendency for this to fail at times, even
though it can be repeated indefinitely as long as the partially loaded picture's window isn't closed. In the end,
though, it results in a lot of unnecessary traffic for the site.
Lately, this problem has bettered somewhat, compared to the last 2 weeks or so. However, some minor changes could be
implemented to the site to solve it permanently, which would resolve the issue of extra traffic.
-add a "reload picture" button/link to the downloading page, such that the partially loaded picture resumes
loading from where it left off. I came across this feature at Animepaper.net and it does seem to be a good solution for
this case, or when: e.g. when net access is accidentally cut while downloading.
-have a time-limited "cache" feature for each account, where the pictures downloaded/full-viewed in the last
30 minutes or so may be re-accessed again by the same account for no extra cost. This is a counter-measure for cases in
which the browser program or the PC decides to hang suddenly, or when the power supply faults for some reason. It'd be
realistic to limit this to, say, the last 5 applicable pictures. This should be accessible through the Control Panel
page for user-friendliness.
Not sure how easy or possible it is to add these features, but I think they'd be really helpful at solving a lot of
frustration, and improve site-friendliness overall. That said, again, thanks a lot for posting these credit notification
messages!
...
It just came to mind that spamming useless forum posts could possibly generate a lot of credit, so could I ask for some
thoughts on counter-measures? Off-hand, I can only think of penalties for spamming posts in the same topic in a short
period of time, or capping the amount of credit that can be gained through forum posts in a certain time
duration...
Still, it shouldn't become an issue if everyone posts responsibly! :)
