i want to know what people truly think about legalization of weed (marijuana) because i want TRUE FACTS about it because i know that it is harmless but i want to know other people's opinion o_0

I dont think legalizing it would benefit either parties. The government doesn't want to make it look okay for people to be abusing drugs, and if they did legalize it, it would then be taxed for all its worth. It might be safer than the stuff you get from the dealer down the street, but it'll be a hell of a lot more expensive. Another thing, it's not completely harmless, it has basically the same effect on your lungs as a cigarette does. When you burn something and inhale it, the crap that was burnt that you sucked in isn't all going to be absorbed, and most will accumulate and kill alveoli. How deeply pot smokers suck in also means that most of the time, they are getting more damage to their lungs than the smokers from a couple of cigarettes. So, it may not be physically addictive like cigarettes, but it does do the same amount of damage. I don't approve of drugs in general, they mess with your bodies normal chemistry. Whatever, people are going to do what they're going to do though.

Weed actually has more tar in it than cigarettes so it will do more lung damage, but it doesn't have arsenic along with like 100 other things added on purpose to kill you faster.

Well I would say yes, but there are people who don't know how to control their MJ intake. Some people are okay with it, but others have no life when it comes to the stuff. I know people who do nothing but eat, sleep, and smoke. I don't really think it should be legalized though. It's straight when you don't let it rule your life. Unfortunately I don't think their are enough people who can control how much they smoke and what they do when their high.

sadly I think it should be...I mean people are going to do it regardless of it being legual or not...and as it got me thinking if they did, just think, it would cut down on some of the people in the jail and have room for the real criminals, I don't know about other countries but in some of the countries like the US they are over crowded....but that's just my take on it ^^

Meh - let people be addicted to the stuff. If you have alcohol and cigarettes - two substances that kill thousands per year - legalized, why not marijuana, which has killed none?

Although weed actually has medecinal properties that gives it the upper hand over cigarettes, it is still just as dangerous. I think it should be administered only to those who need it, not just any drug abuser.

Legalize it, cigar does much more harm to the organism than marijuana, the bad thing about legalizing it is that the great tobbaco companies will eventually monopolize the market and we'll be smoking cigars with 20% cannabis and 80% of additives

(Here in Mexico is going a controversy about that aspect of the weed)

Figures that some anime nerds don't know anything about marijuana. First of all, to the dorks above me who suggest that smoking marijuana is equivalent to smoking a tobacco cigarette, that's ridiculous. You need to understand what is in a cigarette that is doing the damage. When you light a cigarette and inhale it, you're inhaling chemicals that were artificially added to the cig. These chemicals melt into a dangerous tar. This is what causes lung cancer.

On the other hand, marijuana is a plant. You may think tobacco is also a plant "So what?". Well, in a modern cigarette it isn't just tobacco. Shame on you if you thought it was. It's a ton of crap. Some not even worth mentioning. But I will anyway. There have been traces of spider limbs in cigarettes that were dissected. Gross huh?

Well smoking marijuana is much different. Marijuana is usually only smoked with the ingredients being hash from a marijuana plant. No artificial chemicals or insect limbs. In fact, this one plant alone has hundreds of uses. Nearly every use is beneficial to ones health. Aside from using it to choke somebody physically. Which you probably will not find yourself doing.

However, there is one noticeable effect marijuana may have on your health. Marijuana smoke, though not nearly as harmful as cigarette smoke, is still smoke. Inhaling smoke in general isn't good for you. While it is true that smoking marijuana may not be the best thing for your health; it's easily repaired. In fact, most of the damage done by smoking marijuana will be healed automatically by your body. Something that smoking cigarettes cannot relate to. Marijuana doesn't create a clog of tar backing up your lungs. Also, since marijuana is smoked in a much less smaller proportion than cigarettes, there is less chance of it doing damage to the walls of your lungs. Unless you hardcore smoke 12 marijuana joints a day. Lucky you.

I have been secretly using marijuana in cooking for three years. Did I mention that there are other uses for marijuana? That have absolutely no harmful side effects whatsoever? In fact, using marijuana in cooking is great for you! Don't believe me? Do some research. Make sure you find a trustworthy source that isn't controlled by anyone in league with the government or cigarette company. They are the ones responsible for most of your "Drug Free" ads. Interesting, hm?

Well I'm not so sure about the results, but we've been doing well with alcohol so i think weed's going to be pretty much the same thing.
Also if it's legalized taxes would have to be payed and that would really help the economy. Besides, legalizing it wouldn't mean now everyone's gonna get high and all that stuff, that's just looking at a worst-case scenario,

Nope, have you seen what drug dependents do when they run out of whatever it is that they're taking? Drug addiction is one of the major reasons why the crime rate never goes down. It fries your lungs, kills your brains, burns your wallet, destroys homes, kills children (if the mother is pregnant while doing drugs) and it causes drug dependents to kill other people too.

Weep as much as you want and feel the hands of despair groping for your soul for nothing can ease the pain of losing your beloved like the gentle thrust of my pen. *poke*

There are legitimate medical uses for it, and honestly my US history teacher said that the US government could just control the supply and sale of it like they do with liquor.

It should be my choice if I want to smoke weed or not. Anyone who attempts to tell me otherwise I ignore, and look down upon. The only restriction I would agree with is at work , driving related.

actually the plant itself is not that evil but some people use it for bad purpose. The fruit extract from Marijuana can be used as anasthetics or pain killers and other medicinal purposes.
