X-1999 What are the differences between Manga and Anime?

You heard/read it what i want to know, ´cause i do have the the anime serie and there are 24 episodes on 6DVDs! But the manga has 18 Volumes, so what are the differences between the manga and the anime?!
And is it necessary to buy the manga, i mean is it a west of money if i buy the manga or not?!

Hi, well first of all.. the manga does not end (it's blocked at 18th number) so you can't see the final match between Kamui and Fuuma as in the anime. The reason? It seems that some Japanese criticians judged the end of X1999 as something of too cruent, violent and irrespectful about people's death during an historical and huge earthquake in Japan.

Anyway I liked the anime soo much that I bought the manga too, characters are obviously analyzed more deeply and in different aspects (especially as regards Kazuki, the relationship between Kamui and Subaru and so on).
In conclusion if you don't mind the lack of the conclusion (because you've seen the anime and the movie) X1999's manga is very special and peculiar as well ^^
I read it with pleasure and enjoyed it very much!

well at times the manga goes into detail where the anime can't or doesn't...the movie helps to explain and the anime series stretches it out for more detail and the manga simply keeps that going as well...in my opinion I think the series touched just fine and the manga isn't really needed but if you want to read it hehe ^^

You should read the manga, especially since it does go in a different direction with some characters, like Subaru. Although, the manga is much more brutal than the anime. The violence in it is closer to the movie than the TV series. But, if you don't mind that, I certainly recommend reading the manga. :-)
