I am new here and I got a question ^_^',
I wanta know how to gain "Free Download Quota"
cause I notice that when u click on the picture for a bigger image,
it cost it

any one please answer my question ^ ^

I could have sworn there was a FAQ or something about this somewhere. Oh well.

Anyways you don't gain FDQ's, they replenish themselves automatically after every 24 hours of last being used.

the Free Download Quota is the number of downloads you get without having to pay credits. You get 5 max, and like Spystreak said, they replenish themselves automatically every 24 hours, and you won't get more than 5.

After you've used all 5 Free Downloads, you'll have to use credits to download (it'll tell you approx how many credits on the left side menu). For more information on credits, see this thread

I do hope they'll consider changing it to 23 hours and 55 mins, or sometihng like that, since even if I check in at around the same time every day (e.g. 1pm), by the time the quota refreshes (e.g. 1.10pm), some extra time will have been lost...

The time it takes for the FDQ to replenish itself is not going to change. It's not going to kill you to wait for it to replenish completely. You still have credits, so it's not like the FDQ is the only means by which to download pics from the gallery.

MT's been undergoing changes, Spy. Haven't you noticed?

FDQ now refreshes every hour and the methods of gaining cred are now clear and out in the open. I believe they are all mentioned in one of the thread in the "Minitokyo" subforum.

Yes and as I've stated we won't tell you exactly how to get credits. Those are just general means by which to obtain them. Not all of them.

I actually love this method. It encourages you to engage and contribute to the community, while at the same time giving people that are heavy long term anime/manga fans that only can contribute so much a limitless amount of downloads...over time. Less bandwidth gets sucked up for the site, and I don't feel like if I can't make wallpapers or don't have access to Japanese Anime to scan, that I'm SoL when it comes to that awesome scan that was uploaded today that you would like to download.

it's just the way it is and i guess it's a fair fight for the site to be functional also cause there's a lot of people go around and get stuffs from sites without even considering its presence..=) more power minitokyo..alot of good anime stuffs to expore!

Can someone tell me if pics less than 1MB still do not count in the "Free Quota"?

Yesterday, it was the case but today, they do count! Is this a new rule?

Well, so far as I can tell, the current Free Download Quota still refreshes at the same rate of 5/hour.

Scans now all cost 1.0 credit / 1 FDQ.

Wallpapers now all cost 0.5 credit / 1 FDQ.

Indy Art appears to be free, so far as I can tell.

I suppose there might be revisions, depending on user feedback.

I can appreciate why the cap.comment equation is in place. Frankly speaking it allows me to spend more time here if anything. Reading above I see that it refreshes periodically. I simply will nod and say thank you. this is in my opinion one of the best WP/image sites I've found! Woot
