>.< Ahem~ now it's my time to explain the most general knowledge on Chinese martial art (aka Wushu).
Chinese martial arts divided into four category:
1) Chang-Quan (Long Fist Pattern)
2) Nan-Quan (Northern Fist Pattern)
3) TaiJi-Quan (TaiChi)
4) Traditional Patterns (such as the Praying Mantis, Eagle Claw, and sorts of antique weapons...)
Basically, I'm practising the Nan-Quan, which requires strength and stability.
While Chang-Quan requires agility and flexibility; TaiJi-Quan requires softness and patient.
As for the traditional pattern, one who can practise them is the elite one who is chosen from the coach.
However, that's not the end of it.
After finish practising the fist of each pattern, each pattern has it branch-out weapon style.
1 = Chang-Quan : Jian-Shu (sword) & Qiang-Shu (spear) / Dao-shu (broadsword) & Gun-Shu (lite-cudgel)
2 = Nan-Quan : Nan-Dao (heavy-broadsword) & Nan-Gun (thick cudgel)
3 = TaiJi-Quan : TaiJi-Jian (TaiChi sword) / Taichi fan / Taichi spear / Taichi cudgel and so on.
If one who like to know more, one can leave comment in my page :D
