GONE. lol

Srry, I'm not sure where to put this thread. ._. i would put it in the place where it says "talk about minitokyo" but the threads there seem more on the important side. While this is just a question about a group.

Anyway,

shojo:: Sh?jo, shojo or shoujo is a Japanese word originally derived from a Chinese expression written with the same characters. The Chinese characters literally mean young/little/few and woman respectively. In Japanese, these kanji refer specifically to a young woman approximately 7-18 years old. Sh?jo can often be translated with the English word girl. The kanji compound can also be pronounced otome, although otome (meaning "maiden") is more commonly written with a different kanji.

In legal settings, sh?jo is a subset of sh?nen (meaning "minor") and refers to any female juvenile who has not reached the age of 20. In Japan, the word sh?jo has many applications outside of the law. It refers to anything of, for, or about school-age girls. Examples include sh?jo manga, sh?jo culture, sh?jo novels, sh?jo hobbies, and sh?jo fashions, among others.

josei:: Josei manga (might be anime/sim-games available too by now) (lit. "woman,"), also known as "ladies" (red?su?) or "ladies' comics" (redikomi, lit. "LadyComi"), is a term that refers to the target demographic of manga created mostly by women for late teenage and adult female audiences. The male equivalent to josei is seinen. In Japanese, the word josei means simply "female" and has no manga-related connotations at all.

The stories tend to be about everyday experiences of women living in Japan. Though there are some that cover high school, most cover the lives of adult women. The style also tends to be a more restrained, realistic version of sh?jo manga, keeping some of the wispy features and getting rid of the very large sparkly eyes. There are exceptions in the style described above, but what defines josei is some degree of stylistic continuity of comics within this particular demographic (the same is true with different demographics that have different stylistic tendencies).

Josei comics can portray realistic romance, as opposed to the mostly idealized romance of sh?jo manga. A famous example of a Josei is Honey and Clover.

Josei tends to be both more explicit and contain more mature storytelling.

Ok, so what's the point of all this? D: well here's the deal,
I want to make a "shoujo+josei" group. But the area is wide-ranged and even though i will do my best to pitch in A LOT, I am in need of someone who can 1) take care of the group when i'm not available (like a co-owner or manager). And 2) A good staff. 2 more people besides the 1st choice is fine. Making us 4 D:

I dont want to make this group unless I get the people needed to help me with it.

Q. why not ask someone in your friends list?

Ans.: I dont want to do that because all of them are busy with other groups or sick of groups as a whole or is not interested in running a group or is too busy doing something. D: therefore, i am seeking help from members of MT in general.

Q. requirements?

Well I need at least one person who is confident enough to handle things when I'm not there and has LOADS of free time.

Besides that, this is what I need:

+ someone with lots of free time. <- most important.

+ someone who is familiar with shoujo and josei or at least one or the other.

+ someone who likes the idea of making buddies. who wont disrespect or mistreat members and other members of staff. will be impartial (meaning give the person a chance for friendship instead of rejecting them. and treating everyone justly).

+ knows at least basic HTML code. or is willing to learn the basic html code. such as <br>, <b>, <center>, <i>, <u>, <embed> and how to upload and put up images in group content.

+ someone who can actually get along with me ^^; dont hate me please..

LAST QUESTION

What are some examples of shoujo? D:

Ans> muahahahaha XD i will tell u.

Bluntly, shounen-ai, shoujo-ai, yuri, and yaoi ARE NOT SHOUJO. Some people confuse them because they think "well girls like it" so it's shoujo. But that is not true and that is NOT what the group is for. So anything in those genres r not allowed and will not be reviewed. D: Srry guys.

HAREM shows like Tenchi, Clannad, and Love Hina are NOT shoujo. Men r into romance too afterall. And so they write romance novels and series in the romance genre. But they are made for the male audience. How come? Everyone is after the same man. Not enough cute guys/boys. Way too many girls. Guy always end up in some kind of situation with woman. D: u get the picture. Ranma 1/2 is also NOT shoujo. Even though Ryouga is in there. It's not shoujo. srry you guys. D:

What is shoujo then? Well, it's tough to discern sometimes. But if u r curious to find out if a series is shoujo/josei or not, such things can be told in wikipedia.org and baka-updates.

Here are some examples of shoujo.

Again, I know many will debate saying "well Loveless was made for girls so it's shoujo". That's half true and half not true. While u look at "as long as it has some aim towards girls or popular amongst the population of girls it's shoujo", there's also "if it's not OFFICIALLY in the shoujo genre and is enlisted as ANOTHER genre like "yuri", "shoujo-ai", "yaoi", or "shounen-ai" or something then it's not the shoujo we're aiming for. Because officially if it was shoujo it would say "shoujo" as its official genre not the other way around. CCS has some shounen-ai elements in it and it's classified under shoujo officially (same with Ouran High School) so there's no real excuse." Then u will understand.

This subject is debatable but I'll be blunt and honest about this. I am doing this for the latter option. If officially, it is not classified as shoujo then it's not shoujo. If it "contains" shounen-ai, shoujo-ai, or whever but IS as a whole the shoujo genre (examples would be sailor moon which contains shoujo-ai and CCS & Ouran High School Host Club which contains shounen-ai) then it WILL be accepted. But u have to have backup. You dont want to make a mistake like...

"OMG, Clannad's not shoujo?! but I already added all their gallery items" or something, then please do some actual research on wikipedia or other reliable anime info site that honestly gives out the genre of the series. And if you need help on finding out whether it is or isnt then ask 4 help xD it's not bad not to know.

~

Okay, I wrote a lot. D: But plz read the whole thing and dont run your eyes over it and skip it just to ask something in which the answer is already there or accuse me for saying something and not reading the rest.

Thx ^-^ I wont make the group until I make a good and flexible staff and get things covered and ideas planned out. I have 2 groups that is a huge handfull so the staff has to be able to have available time and manage things while and when I'm not available.

And if u dont like my description of shoujo/josei and want to allow shounen-ai and yaoi genre into it, ur free to make a group of ur own lol If I find a good staff I will make it anyway even if there is a pre-existing group XD

HOWEVER I AM HAVING MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT MAKING THE GROUP Many mixed feelings. I have way too many things to do and it is frustrating. >.< My apologies. XD
