My favourite composer is Takanashi Yasuharu. *__*
I love his music, he made the soundtrack for Mononoke, Ayakashi, Jigoku Shoujo, etc :D

My favorite anime composers are Kajiura Yuki and Akiko Shikata...
I like some of Shiro Sagisu's works though...
But I still think Kajiura Yuki and Akiko Shikata are the best...
I really like Kajiura's effort in composing the music of Pandora Hearts since it is my favorite anime...
I can't help to hear all the soundtracks again and again... I really can feel the mysterious aura in the music, really fitted with Pandora Hearts' aura of mystery...
Akiko Shikata composed Katayoku no Tori (Umineko no Naku Koro Ni opening song) n it's really cool!
Even though she did better in composing music for Ar Tonelico... ^^- Currently watching: Fairy Tail, Kuroshitsuji, Skip Beat!

Kajiura Yuki and Toshio Masuda :) kajiura's works are already well known. i liked toshio masuda's pieces from jubei-chan 2 and from mushishi. ah, Hideyuki Fukasawa (Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto) and Hiroyuki Sawano (Zombie Loan & Sengoku Basara) are also good! :)

My favorite is Yuki Kajiura. Her music is... just amazing. Words can't describe. Also, Akira Yamaoka, who made Silent Hill that little bit more awesome with his music. <3

I'm surprise that not many of you mention Joe Hisaishi. He's the best OST composer that I've ever known, actually, you'll see no doubt when you first listen to the Princess Mononoke theme or any other Ghibli movies soundtrack. He's fantastically amazing!
And another one that i've admired recently is Nobuo Uematsu :D
and if you count live-action movies, I would say Shuji Iwai, too. She's brilliant!- Currently watching: Hunter x Hunter

1. Seiji Yokoyama (Saint Seiya, Captain Harlock).*Apocalypse -World War 2- is not an Anime series, is a documental, a very good one, is my favorite.
