GAH! my parents are annoying me lately! T.T They said its pretty annoying and scary that i let anime and nonfictional stuff mix up and interfere with my life.... i cant help it- i mean- c'mon! i'm asian! they're the ones who kind of created anime in the first place! T~T (only if there was some excitement in my life then it wouldn't turn out like this.... hehehe)
anyways, please tell me if anyone out there has this sort of addiction that's this werid and this beserk... ^_^' and tell me what anime is like a drug to you =))

It depends on the anime, but I let many things mix up and interfere with my, frankly, tedious life. My undeniably great interest in anything but normal causes this...

Actually before I was a anime addict. I always find and watch anime with great reviews and story plot. I stayed in front of the TV and computer to watch anime for hours with different titles. Whew! But now I have little interest for it due to life's responsibilities and duties like school, work and etc. But then I didnt stop watching, but I just lowered its frequency.

You too might lose interest in the far future if you already tired of watching...

Yeah, sometimes anime can alter one's mind, feelings and emotions, even personality/attitude 'coz of frequent watching of it. It depends how a person thinks about it.

Nah if you can get a productive life and job, why is being hooked on anime bad? After all most nations are media obessed be it films to anime. So i dont see the problem

well it does depend on the anime/etc and how much it really "runs" your life but if you are just addicted to it and you don't start wanting to or think you're part of it then chances are you're clear and not crazy hehe but I'm addicted to anime but I don't think I live anime...that would be boring if you think about it, living a 2d life -_-

I could understand your situation since my whole family, parents and siblings, are antagonistic of me as an anime fan. There was one-time I decided to finish ASAP the Gundam Wing DVDs I bought in order to test the quality. I did it by finishing each DVD per night but I was suddenly told not to watch. But in the end, I managed to finish it and be satisfied that my copy works fine. When I get angry at them and enter an argument, they always mistake my fondness for anime as an addiction. In fact, deeper emotional hatred and not influcenced by anime is the reason why I get angry at them. To make things worse, my brother once explained to his students that I'm an anime fan in one of his classes. I was severely ashamed when I learned of it thru one of his students.

Anime addiction happens but it becomes a concern when you keep lost track of your life. I did suffer bouts of addiction to anime but I managed to overcome it.

i love anime, i love 2d girls, i am a nijikon, as long as they don't disturb your productivity in school or workplace i think they'll be fine...can't live without them though...

I can go for months without anime, but I've grown up with it so I'll probably never let it go (at least, not anytime soon).

Not many of my friends that I've had before and or even now go berserk about anime/manga so I don't really talk about it outside of MT. So my fandom doesn't really interfere with my life -- it's just another distraction when I'm 'trying' to do my homework on the computer XD

I feel your pain cloudstrifekilledme, my parents are always saying that to me too. But I keep trying to tell them that it's what I really like to do, I've even tried telling them that I want to make a career out of it. What makes matters worse is that none of my friends like anime, so it makes me feel more alone than I would want to :\. Well whatever, I'm a proud anime-addict and no one is going to stop me ever! :nya:

As far as an anime that I'm addicted to, I can't simply put down one. Every anime that I end up watching gets me addicted to it, and the genre of it doesn't really matter either so long as the story is good to me.

When nothing makes sense, I'll fight believing only in myself.

Anime never 'ruled' my life.... and now it's lost 99% of it's appeal, period. I'm either A) getting old B) getting wiser OR C) anime/manga has gone the way of most U.S. television/magazines: down the crapper.

What's everyone else's take on my self-diagnosis?
