OKAY!

We all know, in some subconscious level, that the world is gonna end. It might be tonight or tomorrow or in 2012 or someday in the far flung future. There are still a lot of doomsayers out there that keep saying that the end of the world will come within our lifetime.

So, question. If the end of the world would come in our lifetime, and soon at that, and it has been made known to general public, e.g., the governments of the world announced that a super solar flare would hit Earth or an unknown celestial object is in a collision with Earth, how would you prepare for it? Let's say that utmost there is a small chance that some of us would survive it, how would you prepare for the aftermath?

Me, I'd built a radiation-resistant bunker up inside the mountains of Australia, fill it with all the neccessities of life I can think of, and invite my family and friends to wait out the end of the world. Also I would stockpile in weapons and ammo just in case it turns into a zombie/mutant apocalyse thing... Yeah, that's what I would do... X-P X-P X-P

Or build a rocket ship and wait out the apocalypse while in the orbit of Mars, or Jupiter, or a moon of Jupiter...

So... how many doomsday points have we passed by now? How many times was the world supposedly going to just end?

Incidentally, the whole solar flare thing? That's just speculation at this point, and even though it might actually happen, all it'll do is knock out electronics. Which is bad enough, don't get me wrong, but what they said was that it COULD possibly lead to a lot of deaths if unchecked. They sure as hell didn't say that the world would end right then and there. It's just the Y2K paranoia sweeping over some of us all over again, it seems.

It depends on what doomsday scenario happens. If it's meteors falling from the sky the only thing a person can really do is find a place to hide and hope not to die. If its an attack from an alien race, then I'd probably try to fight back. If its a series of natural disasters ripping the earth appart then all you can do is find a place to hide and hope not to die. If its a world war that happens to spill into my part of the world then I'd probably try to fight back. You'll never really know what you'll be doing when the world ends until it actually comes.

I like to disturb the harmony of the pond by throwing a handful of pebbles in all at once. XD

I don't see the world ending any time soon meh I ain't getting that at all from my guides but I am getting a mess is coming and some will die in it, but regardless I would simply sit and wait it out...regardless if that's the way I'm going to die then I'm not going to escape it, for, in the end, no one can escape fate/destiny

If the world will end but we don't know that it's going to end, then we're just all dead like disappearing. Just like that. But if we know that the world's going to end. Then we must research about things to prevent that. Like taking refuge on the Moon. And we can create a more advanced technology and that'll protect us... Hopefully.

I'd be sitting on the roof of my home, a cold drink in one hand, my lover in the other. If I'm going, I'm going happy.

...Then again, how do we know that the world has ended? By all logic, the world ends the moment the mind becomes no longer able to perceive it, such as when we die. But as far as this whole doomsday scenario goes, the world might come to an end, but mankind, as resilient as they are, will find some way to survive. They've survived one disaster after another; as much as it pains me to say this, I believe that the human race will find some way to weasel out of the end of the world.

unfortunatley the natural disaster most likley to kill a person is a meteor....
since everyday we have many near hits... look at the moon for example, it's been hit many times, it's like our goalie. there was a meteor that hit jupiter a few years back.. the meteor made an explosion in the atmosphere of the planet the was 4 times larger than earth.

it seems that the complete anihilation of our planet (at least the life on it) is inevitable.

nasa already found an asteroid headed directly for earth, it WILL make impact if we don't do anything to stop it. but it will hit in 200 years. so i don't care to much.

oh yea, and if the world ends tommorow, i'll end with it i guess...

I think I'd have a normal day, but if it were impossible because of circunstances, I'll spent it with my family and friends. I'f I were alone I'd go to a nice place, like the beach or the country. Because, you know, churchs, sinagoges, mosques and temples would be full to the top, anyway.

The "end of the world" has been handed too many times by "classic" sects like the Jehova Witnesses, as well as "new" crazier wacky cults, that none takes it seriously anymore.

The point in which they faill, is that only their followers will be saved. Everyone else is condemned. That's why usually they voluntary isollate from other people, because according to them we belong to the devil

Thier "end of the world" lacks, or has lost under their point of view, the core, main point of original religions: GOD'S MERCIFULLNESS.

Under Catholic point of view, at least, means "the end of the world that lived far from God" or "the end of the world that was under the reing of the Evil Enemy". Everyone who is good, no matter their religion, would have HOPE on that new world. Everyone is invited, everyone is embraced. It's our choice to accept it or reject it.

this is something I think about almost daily. Kinda depressing in a way. but it makes me do all the stuff I wanna do c:
If the world were to end randomly, I can't stop it. and I can't do anything after it. cuz if the world goes I go with it.
If I knew it was comming, I'd do something crazy. Like get my whole body tattooed or dye my hair eight different colors and peirce my face.
If it was raandom, I'd act like like it would be any other day.

I don't think anyone would survive Doomsday, that's why it's called that, if people actually survive, then it's Doomsday fail.
Me? I want it all to end in a glorious manner. A meteor crashing is ok, I want it flashy and fast. I don't want some bio weapon going berserk a killing mankind slowly and painfully.

Maybe the world will not end in a bang, but everything will just simply disappear, like turning off the light.

Or since it's dooms day, that means every law of physics will basically fails. Like seeing your own body disintegrate.
