What do you think about the Deathnote U.S live action film?
When i heard of this all i could think was people over here who dont like anime or manga getting into the movie.I personally dont want it cuz they might make it to be like stupid Twilight.
I wanna know what you guys think.I think hollywood is running out of ideas so now they're taking Japans ideas
i don't want it too...i think the japanese version is still the best till now,if the US one use back the actors from the Japanese version then maybe i can consider watching it

wah! i dont want to.. i like japans version a lot.. not sure if the U.S version will be good..
well I won't judge until I see it...I mean I loved the three japanese movies so until I know other wise I won't be too quick to yay/nay over it

In my opinion i think the jap version is always better and the US in my opinion won't do such a great job. Such as the dragonball movie. U know at least get the right culture to play the parts, ASIANS!

wow why don't they just make a frikking musical for it -_= they are determined to play that out aren't they. Seriously though as overrated as death note is too.

I'm a bit happy - if they manage to pull it off succesfully.
All this drama about Zac Efron playing Light, at first I was like WTF but now I don't care either way.
If not him I don't know who else will be able to potray Light.

I think the US version might be better.
I have a feeling think they'll stick with the manga design. The J version failed at characters, seriously, the least
they could've done was to dye Misa's hair.
Usually Americans pick hot actors for characters, and a sexy, English speaking Light doesn't look bad to me.
I can't wait to see it... since I've never liked manga based live movies made by the Japanese, maybe the English can
pull it off better.
It's not like the characters have super spiky hair and can shoot eye beams like the DB ones, so they can manage a few CG

I don't want this film, I think they'll ruin it, and Death Note doesn't deserve it, its a great anime.
I hate this fashion of making american live actions of good anime series, please, stop it!
As usual the story will be ruined. Characters will be terrible and everything will feel so western that the very essence of the original death note will be gone. T.T

Hollywood will probably commercialize it to the extent that it loses its identity and appeal.

ugh as if death note isn't overrated enough you guys know hollywood is gonna suck that dry for EVERYTHING its worth.
First off, I think it's way too soon to do a remake anyway. It was just released in 2006 and then the remake will be in 2011? Way too soon. Maybe in at least 10-15 years they can do a remake.
I really liked Death Note and Hollywood better not mess it up. If only they could use the original cast and keep everything the same, except they'd speak English, for those who don't like watching subs or dubs. That way everyone will be happy.
hollywood just lost its touch.all they do is mostly remakes, sequels and anything to make money. and i heard the AKIRA movie was dropped
no please....dragonball sucked, blood the last vampire didn't quite make it...so just stop...not everyone knows deathnote so it will bum at the box office anyway...
Honestly, it can't be any worse than the Japanese live-action movie. And you can bet they'll do a better job on the special effects.

I personally did not view the first part of the movie (first movie) and only saw the ending (2nd movie).
I think that the overall movie was good, but the ending...
It was so strange, it made me think that they just wanted to end it fast.
L killing himself?, so strange.
