Well the title kinda says it but what character do you think was gone before their time? Either died, left the series, or just disappeared? Major character? minor character? Some random character that you laughed at? Let me what you think?
One of mine would be the "foaming mouth guy" from Avatar the last airbender. Soo funny. He would start screaming and throwing up his arms then start foaming at the mouth when he saw the avatar. He was only in two eps but made me laugh every time. :D

L from Death Note. He was what made that series, and it went way downhill for the most part of his abscence. Not to say that it was bad without him, I just wish he could have hung around a little longer. T_T R.I.P. L.

Hughes was my fav from fma! I totally agree with you. I cried at his funeral when his daughter said he had work to do. it was the saddest thing I ever heard :'(

- Gesicht from Pluto. Guy was the main character and got killed before the manga ended!
- Claes's handler from Gunslinger Girl. I felt so sorry for Claes when she heard the news, and even more so when
they erased her memories and made her into a test subject.
- Havoc from Darker than Black. Her death was pretty sad...
- Munsu from Shin Angyo Onshi. I don't care if the series is over! He should have lived, darn it!

L from Death Note.. once he died to me no more suspence no exitment so yeah once he died it wasent as good anymore.. over all AWESOME anime but just L shouldnt have died like that.

well.. i cried when hughes died. T_T i know it was important plot-wise, but it's just too soon. :(

...I kid, I kid XD Um, but in all seriousness, I'd say Naomi Misora from Death Note. She was so interesting, imho, and she only got, like, a chapter and then she was gone forever. I think the story could have been interesting with such a strong, intelligent female on the side of the law (notice that L's investigation team only had men on it, and that the only woman besides Naomi to appear on the side of the law -besides Wedy, who was, in fact, a crook L happened to know- was Halle Lidner, and she was shown to be playing both sides, giving Mello information and the like). The rest of the female characters are either innocents or Light's second Kiras =\ So I think it would have been awesome to see some more of Misora before she was killed off.
I know most people say L when talking about Death Note, but having read the manga first, the way the entire volume/chapters leading up to L's death went, Light thinks to himself at least three times "I gotta kill him" and things started to pile up that demanded something decisive happen in that struggle between the two. I hated to see him die, but after all the signs in the chapters leading up to it, I would have been surprised if nothing big had happened.
For me its Euphemia. It's was so sad when she died. She and Suzaku was a perfect couple too.
I must say, I stopped watching a few shows for them killing off decent characters righ off the bat... Shannon in Umineko no koro ni for example.

I agree witha lot of the people here who say Hughes from FMA. That was an utterly depressing death.

I also agree that Hughes was the most shocking death, but I would also tie that with Kotori from X.

Shoko in Sokyuu no Fafner she at first only apeared enough to let you hint she may be important and then dies before the story even really begins the series would have been even better having her apearing more often
