Sorry I've been so dead with the group... X.x I think it's time we did something again.

First, I think we need a new group layout. Imageshack lost the top left slice of this one for some reason, and I can't find the file on my computer (don't think I saved >___< ) Any volunteers?

Also, the Alphabet project doesn't look like it's ever going to be completed XD So I'll just leave it be and put it in the archives. We'll start a new project. I'm looking for ideas.

Some ideas that I have:
- Shades of the rainbow, ie people get to claim a colour, and they can only use that colour (including shades of it), plus greyscale.
- Scan challenge, ie give a couple of scans, and people have to incorporate one or more into wallpaper
- Seasons, pick a season (fall, summer, winter, spring) and wall what you think represent it the most

Now with the stuff on the group page, I'm thinking to remove the request scan section since it's never used.... Also removing latest submissions since we're too lazy to update it XD Look in the guestbook for latest submissions? XD Instead, maybe have a feature thing.

Any other ideas/topics I missed?

I like all three suggestions! Especially the greyscale and one colour. I'll make a layout, why don't we have everyone suggest a painted wall they want me to use, and I'll pick either the one that works best? Or the one that gets suggested the most? A featured section would be good. If we're not going to have the recent submissions section, maybe we should go over to having thumbnails in the gb?

i'm not pro the rainbows idea because i feel like it limits artistic vision a bit--that and monochrome has been a bit of a fad lately although not with painting

i think seasons is a great one
maybe countries/cities would be interesting but difficult

the first and third one both sounds good to me but I preferably go with season...
as Vita said artistic vision would be limited in shades of rainbow which lessen all the enthusiasm

I prefer the second and third one <3 They both create a lot of possibilities for walling :)
Hte feature section is something that's been done by a lot of other groups, so it's probably time we did that one too.

Here's an extra idea on top of maple's excellent ideas - how about a simple competition, where popular vote by the members will decide the winner and the winning wall will get made into the group layout?

The first two ideas are preferable for me, just because I'm not so used to walling seasonal walls ^_^' But still it would make a nice theme for us to compete/participate.

Also since some said the first idea limits artistic vision, maybe we could make the rules abit less strict and allow some other colours in the walls while having the the main colour takes most part of the wall.

Most of the new submissions in the guestbook are all in thumbnails already, I think it's fine to let member post thumbs since it's not as big as it used to be. I dunno about featured section though, I think not having it is what makes this group special. But if we were to add it, I don't mind either (though I might be lazy updating it ._.) And it could attract more members to join this very quiet group. XD

i agree with flyindreams having a competition whose going to have his/her work get to be a
group layout :D so that many members can participate on it :)

Lol, those were just random ideas I threw out there, but seems that people are interested in one or another. As for the rainbow colour idea, we could do something totally opposite, like, you have to use at least 6 distinct colours (like all the colours of the rainbow), or something like that XD or just have the theme as "rainbow" and free to interpret.

and @flyin said, I guess we could do that, use a contest winner for the layout, though with the pace of things, it might be a while XD

I knew I should've made a poll XD

But from the comments posted, so far we have support for
A) rainbow colours - 4
B) scan challenge - 3
C) seasons - 4
D) countries/cities (though I don't really know what this means... vitaa?)

and yeah, thumbnails in GB is fine.

yo gee I once really wanted to make a rainbow project too. Wouldn't allow greyscale though, but put in like: blue yellow red orange purple green white grey black brown and maybe pink lavender aqua

I like the shades of the rainbow challenge, although I remember it being done before for another group long time ago. If you go through with it I soooo gun-shot the color PINK lol XD! I likey the scan challenge a lot! And the seasons sound just pretty, I love love landscapes. Great Idea!

Anyways, the Season's challenge is my fav for the record count and I'm back, Hi everyone! :)

Seasons sounds good to me, and so does limited palette rainbow happiness. I've been getting into pixel art recently so controlled color and all that stuff has been really fascinating. haha.

I like the idea of contest winners as the layout, too.
