A small guide to the less popular section of our forums :3

What is a Deletion Appeal?
So, you had your piece deleted and you are not entirely satisfied with botChii's response. Well, here's the place to get a more in depth response.

What do you need to do:
-Open a thread with the submission's name, including the type of your submission (i.e: Scan / "name of your submission here")
-Include the submission's link.
-Post a copy of the deletion PM

It may take some time before you get an answer, so be patient :3 And always be polite.
Take note that if you don't follow the guidelines it will take even more time. So please, follow the guidelines

Notice:
-Members, please refrain from posting saying you disagree/agree with the deleted piece. This section exists to establish a dialogue between the affected member and the moderator who deleted it or elite member who flagged it. (edit) Note, other moderators, active or retired may reply too, providing they are familiar with the type of gallery item being discussed.
-Low effort does not refer to the time you spent on the wallpaper, it has to do with creating a coherent and cohesive piece.
-Don't put up other's wallpaper for criticizing. Stating that your wall is better than them won't help your chances of getting the wallpaper back on the gallery

And remember to post in english, so the staff can assist your request properly. :3

If your deleted piece is a wall or Indy art, and you really want to improve it, you can start a thread at The Sandbox.

Please note that the number of comments/favs is not a valid reason for Moderators to restore your deleted piece to the gallery.

Please note: In regards to deleted scans which are duplicates, the scan of lesser quality will be discarded, and when viewed will default back to the better scan which had been retained. Besides the knowledgeable moderators (both active and retired) who are replying to the deletion, only those members who submitted the deleted scan should post here in this forum in order to gain insight as to why their scan was deemed inferior or to offer additional documentation to redress any grievances in regard to said scan.

ADDENDUM

If you have a scan which was deleted due to poor quality, you may find the following information helpful: Many poor quality scans contain numerous JPEG artifacts (or lossy data compression) which are portions of the image where there is a distorted, unusually spotty or otherwise messy appearance. These artifacts occur during extreme data compression when some of the data is lost during the process because the compressor cannot reproduce sufficiently the data in the saved (compressed) file. Noisy areas along the edges, smeary regions, loss in color fidelity, and pixelated areas are some examples of the result which make the image unpleasant to look at and detract from its appreciable value. Compression artifacts commonly happen, for example, when somewhere along the line the image was converted from a jpg to another image format like a gif, png, etc.
