Actually it only costs $55/month (AUD) but we can only download a certain amount and then our speeds get slowed.
The highest speed I've ever downloaded at is about 1.1Mb/sec but it usually averages at 600kb/sec to servers in Australia.

you get limited to how much you download? that's weird. but that is still an amazing dl rate for $55.

I wish I had the same DSL my friends have with 1.5 GB/sec download.
If I live just 1 mile closer to the city centre, I could have it.

Heh, with that kind of speed they would have to be living in the server rooms where the backbone network is. It would take more than 10Gbit/s connection to have that kind of speed. I don't believe stuff like that.

Here is a network map of the nordunet network which is use in norhern europe countries. It's linked to germany and of course, US too and they link it to other countries and so on and so on. Have a look at the speeds. I really don't think your friends has access to such speeds which they acclaim they have.

I have cable... But its capped at about 3 megabit downstream and 256 kilabit upstream, meaning i download at 384k a second, and upload at 32k a second.

lol..comcast do that to their customers? geez thats lame. i think they shouldn't have the right to do that..afterall you paid them already and most of all it was to download stuff.

56k sucks at downloading large files and uploading. 56k do suck, but i'm okay with it as long as i can get in touch with MT...lol.

32k modem -_-. Cables are too expensive, so much paying for traffic!
