i'm with shitty optus - unlimited download speed/128kbps upload for $65. You'd think that's ok but it's not when you have a 12GB limit every month.

Quote by dMptele-fragd must be paying a big bill every month i supposed. even T1
don't go that high and it's about $1k per month. but man that would be
going to ignore the rest of the topic at the moment just to respond to this. The whole point in a T1 is that your upstream or upload is the same as your download allowing you to host servers and other things that take high amounts of upload, which oyu can't do that well on a residential cable line. If you look your notice that jsut about everyone posting speeds has high down and a relativly low up. As well there is a major differece between residential prices and buisness prices for badnwith. The reason is that your most likely never going to use your bandwith 100% of the time and as well the cable/dsl company never actual signs a agreement allowing you to have that bandwith, they are allowed to cut your bandwith if they think your using to much, and other reasons. I have some friends who host a server in Cali and they pay $80 for 576/576 Kbits which is a good price for that kind of bandwith.
