For some unknow reason, any image I try to save from the internet is forcing me to save it was bitmap & auto titled 'untitled' regardless if it was jpeg or png & had already a name.

I could add let say .jpg or .png but it's really annoying to do it everytime. Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

Just a guess, but I think your image didn't load completely? Do check if the full image opens correctly.

There's also the possibility that it's a browser problem.

In IE, sometimes when I right-click and "Email Image" or some such, the browser will try to continue loading the incomplete image without consuming extra credits. Then, the completed image saves correctly.

With Firefox, haven't had many problems thus far. Usually if I just save, it allows the complete image to be saved, unless the server happens to be down at that time.

It loaded completely but it still forces me to save it as bitmap. This is really a pain because I can't save png files properly...

IF you told us what Operating System and web browser you were using it would help. And also how you are saving the images. For example right click and save image as... then does a window pop up that lets you choose where to save the file?

Have you tried a different browser to see if the same thing happens?
Firefox and Google Chrome are good browsers to try.

It's most likely either a browser bug (not surprising if you're using IE) or some kind of setting that you're not aware about. Either way trying another browser will tell you whether it is one of these or if it is something else. It takes 2 minutes to install firefox or chrome

Thanks anyway but I somehow managed to fixed it. Seems that IE tends to force you to save images as bitmap if you don't delete temporary internet files.
