It's plain because of your top title image... there's no pizazz... all the pizazz is in that info image in your page contents, which though it's part of your userpage, it's not part of the layout image (which I believe to be the focus of this thread) But it definitely still gets you points...

6/10 the layout is really quite nice and all... but the base-color is white... and the image layout colors are orange/red... Try setting you BG color as #e34230 is my suggestion... so that the same color extends for the screen and doesn't cut off between orange/red and white...
Now someone tell my what you think about my new layout?

hmmm...it's a nice, simple layout (though I'm not a fan of gravitation ^^; ).... I like the transparent effect...how DO you do that? ^^

hahaha... i've been looking for this thread.... wondering what the heck happened to it... but anyway....
lens, you got a pretty good userpage, not too bad, pretty nifty... and the exact opposite color from my scheme, hahaha... but i would give you a..... 7/10 yeah? =]
so rate ahead people ^_^ would appreciate any comments.... and no, i don't want any feedbacks or advices concerning changes on my page, it's godlike and kickass as it already is, although i'm still not finished with my userpage content area, so don't worry too much about that XD hehe...

Transparent effect = Do not put a color in for Box Background
Dimmed behind boxes effect = simple enough... take a copy/screenshot of the actual page's layout and match it up with the layout you're doing. Copy the images that are under the boxes and make the lower layer transparent to the transparency you want then delete the upper layer in the area where the boxes are.and for xandman? 9/10 mmm blood red... wicked cool! But it seems to have an effect that doesn't work in my Firefox browser so it loses a point.

ahhh.... 9/10 ...pretty fair rating ^_^ ...considering my content ain't finished....
i'm pretty straightforward and righteous with my ratings as you can see from my rating-the-av-above thread.... so don't think i try to make you guys look bad aye? =] I'm just honest, hehe...
anyway, back to terra-chan, i don't think i've rated yours anytime before... so i would' say 7/10 ...not bad at all... but as i perceive it, the transparency ruins pretty much, making the text and links hard to see for others, i detest transparency on any page though. The menu and table headers are pretty nifty as well. Last, but not least.... what's up with your "most popular submissions" table? It looks a lil' unaligned..... :\
but overall.... it's less than best, but more than bad :D *thumbs up*

I've actually also made an Azumanga Daioh music-themed layout, but I've never seen Azumanga, so I'm not too keen on putting up an Azumanga layout... I'd make myself a BECK layout, except there's a lack of good images from the anime... I'm not sure what I should do... I think I've made Music as my minitokyo theme and I'm gonna pretty much stick to that...

Yes, i've put down alot of effort on it just to get it out of my head and release me from my burden..... hehe.... ^_^ ...and it's one of the best you say? Haha.... why now is that a coincidence... i and alot of other members on MT thinks so too XD hahaha.... *thumbs up*
ok ok... monsieur boogy, i keep seeing 7.5 in my head... so i'll rate your userpage 7.5/10 =] ....you're not using any headers, fits pretty good with your color scheme and layout skin. No transparency *thumbs up* ...yet, somehow it lacks the essence.... and somehow it doesn't.... well..... through that, 7.5 keeps infesting my head, and 7.5 it is :) Good job, well done.
